Hi,

you mentioned that you replaced every thing but still you are getting line. remember for all digital copiers if your counter print or your print job is with out a thin black line then you have dirty optic or **** glass. but if you have line on print jobs and copying job even after replacing the drum etc....check the fusing unit.
if the line is not a fusing problem then checked your newly installed charge roller

Hi
if these lines are black then you probably have lines on your charge roller its inside of your PCU
you can take your drum out and wipe the black roller with a clean rag this should remove the lines
if its a white line then it might be in the optics or laser.
hopes this helps

Have you cleaned the optical path and the laser cover glass? Remove the glass and clean all the mirrors with a soft lint free cloth. Do not use and sprays or cleaners, just a dry cloth. Clean the scanner bed and the glass for the ADF if it has one.

Black line on copies

Check the drum history? If the yield is not yet reached, you should clean the charge roller, cleaning blade brush and cleaning blade. Remember to vacuum beneath the cleaning blade! See if that works, otherwise you should call a techie to replace the drum. If yield is not reached they will charge you for a new drum.

I can not get my copier to work at all it just leaves a j 3 message. When it was working black lines were being left over every copy page

where the black line being left when after the drum or before the fuser THe hot part. make a copy and stop the machine so the paper is in the middle catch it before it goes into the hot part are the lines there? be careful the toner will not be fuse your hand will smear the toner, if the lines are there you need to replace the cleaning blade and maybe the drum and get the image unit that houses the drum might need to be cleaned.

if no lines then the fuser is putting the lines on the copy replace the upper and lower fuser rollers and cleaning roller next to the lower fuser roller.

Black spots in the dram ricoh 450

Are the black spots on all copies. if they are only on teh copies done from teh glass scan then it could be dirt on the g;*** plate. if from all copies it is the dev or drum area.. are the dots moving across the page in the same place if you do lots of copies this means it is the drum that is damaged.. if they are blotchy marks it could be toner build up.. if the marks are in a line across the page open up the side door adn look at the hot roller in the fuser the coating could be damaged and the roller need replacing..GOOD luck A

Problem for print by photo copier

sounds like the charge grid is not set properly in the drum unit..did you et up the drum unit properly and run the new dev and drum set up..if youy are getting black the charge is not working correct as the charge of the drum help to keep the toner from adhering to the drum surface when copying .. I would take the drum chrge unit out again and check it is set in the right way when you put it back on also check the contacts arent put out of line.

My copies have a thin line from top to bottom that is very light to no print at all. The thin line is at the same place every time but the rest of the copy looks great. I have replaced the drum and toner...

You probably have some thing in the developer unit, if you take out the developer and check the bag roller and brush, if you slowly turn the dev unit you might see a void area that is being passed onto the drum.
If the developer has a large numbers of copies on it then dump the developer and replace the starter.
Make sure the developer get thoroughly cleaned especially behind the blade.

If the developer is not all that old, then lift the blade off and clean the backside of the blade, and the area or areas of the brush that have the void.

Hope this is of some help.

Error code F2-42

Are the lines horizontal or vertical? DO you get lines on B/W copies (black and white) also? If you try to copy a blank white page do you get the lines? Does the toner / lines wipe off after the copy comes out? If the toner wipes off after the copy comes out you have a problem in the fusing unit ( the hot area that fixes the image onto the page). If the lines are vertical then you have something inside the device that is dragging across the page as it goes through the device. If the lines are horizontal then you it could be the drum cleaning blade, the transport blade, or charge roller. The noise could be that one of the blades are bouncing. It could be that a gear is worn. Please give more info on the problem to better help.
