you would need the L7 dual 2 ohm subs they cost $200 each and the zx1000 amp runs $400 each.

However, the zx1000.1 amps will barely push them (L5 1200 watt would be a better choice on that amp) so the total cost shipped with authorized kicker warranty for 1 year would be $1200.00

I do however have 1 new in box single L7 dual 4 ohm in stock for $150 shipped its under full manufacturer warranty as well.

I can get you into a much better sub and amp combo for less but it isn't kicker brand. I went from 4 L7 12's running zx1500.1 to each sub for a total of 6000 watts RMS and hit 151 db and switched to Hifonics subs and amps and hit 157.3 with only 2 12 inch square brutus subs and 1 2000 watt RMS class d brutus amp. Hifonics will even warranty a blown or burned sub but kicker will not because they know they have voice coil heat issues with them. I have been using the same 2 subs and single amp for 9 months now in serious street beat comps and have never had an issue other than breaking car glass, however with the kicker sub amp combo in 7 months i went through 5 subs and 2 amps and never broke a window.

I can get you the brutus amp for $350 shipped and the subs for $260 a pair shipped or $600 for the combo shipped which is 1/2 the cost of the kicker at twice the quality and sound output. Hifonics is the only company to ever win more than 150 sanctioned events in a single season and they hold the record with over 210 wins in a season

let me know what you think on the price and I will do what I can to help out.

i am running a sx1250.1 digital and 2 12" L7's with a 0 gauge wiring kit that also brings a big part in what you are getting out of an amp.

Ill tel you right now you got a 1 or 4 ohm load going to your amp. The amp is made for a 2 ohm load at approx. 1100 watts so in that fact you are only giving that sub around 700 watts at 4 ohms and a 1 ohm load will blow your amp in a quick hurry.

Amp gets hot and shuts down

Time for a bigger amp or better wiring to the amp. You can try a cooling fan setup to cool the amp. Brushless computer fans work pretty good, draw very little current and move quite a bit of air and they're really cheap to buy.

HIFONIC 1500D WATTS (2)2OHM L7s WAS TOLD CAN ONLY WIRE TO 350 WATTS EACH SPEAKER BEST BUY SAYS I NEED A NEW 1500 WATT KICKER AMP TO GET FULL POWER 1500 WATTS OR (2) 4 OHM L7S TO GET FULL 1 OHM 1500 WATTS

Look, if the amp is 1500watts mono, then you have the capability to run a sub up to the full 1500watts, but i see on the specs for this amp that it has output for 2 speakers, which means up to 750watts each speaker. That's more than enough to power your L7's. They're trying to sell you something you don't really need in my opinion. Hope this helps.

Can i run 2 2ohm l7s and 1 4ohm l7 together

If you were to parallel the 2 ohm speakers it would give you a 1 ohm load then you could connect the 4 ohm in series with the other 2 and it would give you 5 ohms...also you could series the two 2ohm speakers to give you 4 ohms and then parallel the 4 ohm speaker to give you 2 ohms...you must make sure the amplifier can go down to 2 ohms though..if you need a simple diagram on how this looks you can email me at jcameo7270@yahoo.com for a diagram.

I have 2 l7 kicker with a 2000 watt amp not really a good brand though..sometimes the subs work perfekt but sometimes they dnt work as the way they suppose to sound they sound really weak n when im driving...

OK-3 issues here but you already know one lol-you bought a substandard amp for some bad *** power hungry subs---thats your first issue :)

Check the ground for the AMP it shouldn't be any longer than 12" from the amp to its grounding point-Any longer than that and several issues can happen, like poor power to the amp, feedback (winding noise over the speakers, usually changes pitch or frequency with the engines rpm's), intermitant substandard sound (your experiancing this) and coil bounce (your subs move in and out producing little to no sound, you are experiancing this as well)

The same issues can come from the amp not having enough constant power to sustain the subs when they hit repeditivly, to fix this you need to buy a cap and add it to your system- A cap quickly charges using the battery, and supplies the extra umph your amp needs so it can push the subs without starving itself. With the subs you have I recommend a 1.5 to 3 fared capasator

Yes i was wondering what would be the best way to wire my system. i have to kicker L5 4 ohm 10in subs and one kicker 1000 watt mano amp. what wolud be the way to get the best bass out as possible.

Hello eaglepower_2,

Well, to get the maximum power from the amp, you really need a 2ω load. Unfortunately, you cannot get that from 2 L5's with 4ω voice coils. You can get either 1ω which will burn your amp up, or you can get 4ω, and your amp will put about 500 watts RMS into that load.

To get the most from your amp, you really needed the L5's with 2ω voice coils. That way, you could run the voice coils in series and the subs in parallel, resulting in a 2ω load, exactly what your amp likes. If you can exchange them for the 2ω model, I would.

Here's the link to Kicker's manual for the ZX-1000.

General ?

they are dual 2 ohm all L7 are 2 voice coil per speaker so it is like 2 speakers not 1 the dual 2 ohm version is so you can use 2 speakers wired in series to get a 2 ohm load 2 ohms + 2 ohms = 4 ohms then parralel the 2 at the amp to cut it in half to get 2 ohms. I have full warranties on mine and i dont really sell alot of them any way I prefer the hifonics they sound better last alot longer and take way more power and put out 3 times as much sound. but i can check it out if you have the info.

How to order

The L7 I have is brand new in the box (not a speaker box just the retail packaging box) and the rms is 750 watts RMS and 1500 watts peak, but you are correct they blow easy when you push rated power to them, the hifonics subs will take 1200 watts rms all day long and over 3500 peak for burping at competitions, i run mine at 2000 watts everyday in a daily driver. if you hook 1 dual 4 ohm sub to a zx1000.1 it will be 2 ohm load on the amp so you will get 1000 watts to the sub so if you want to run it slightly underpowered to keep it from blowing use the 750.1 per sub, i can do those at about 250 each shipped

the price is 150 plus 10$ flat rate USPS shipping and yes I accept paypal Wyattconnolly@msn.com .

the warranty starts the day you buy it for 12 months but kicker will not cover burned or blown voice coils, that is why i recommended the hifonics (which is what i use to compete with now) because they put out better quality sound and alot more of it and they will take alot of abuse, if you want boxed speakers ready to go in kicker brand ported boxes I can have them drop shipped right to your door as well, the only reason i am selling the 1 L7 i have so cheap is because a customer ordered it then never paid for it so I am selling it at cost. be careful if you are buying on ebay as you have no warranty at all and you cant force the seller to give you 1 even if they say it has 1. because authorized dealers are not allowed to do internet sales at all so kicker and most other companies will not honor the warranties.

also you dont need 2 amps you can use 1 bigger amp and still run 2 subs just by changing how you wire the subs at the amp. 1 large amp costs less than 2 smaller 1's usually just not with kicker brand

Wiring

provided that the memphis studio series is still 1 ohm stable you would wire each coil of each speaker like this : posive to positive negative to negetive on the speaker using 2 jumper wires then run 1 coil from each subs positive and negative the input on the amp that amp would see a 1 ohm load from both speakers as each speaker would become a 2 ohm load. from experience, memphis does not make an amplifier that is brutal enough on power for L7 15" solos, i have the st 1600 d amp running only 2 dual 4 ohm 10 L5's and it is barely enough power for them. For less money than your 2 subs cost retail I can get you brand new matching 2000 watt true competition rated and proven 1 ohm power and 2 subs that would physically fit in your current box, i would however recommend a very very large box for 2 15" squares. you can email me at sicaudio@msn.com , my advice and system designs are always free even if you do not buy thru me. I am usually 1/3 to 1/2 what retail is with full warranties and i can drop ship anywhere in the U.S.A.
