Tape Release Button not working, Can't get tape out!!

I have a Panasonic Palmcorder, Model PV-D209. The tape release button does not respond so I cant get the tape out. Record, VCR and all other functions are working, I just cant get the tape out!! I tried both battery power and electric power, but nothing helps.

How do I fix it ? Thanks!

Guess what, I fixed my problem by accident. I tried to slide the eject button over and lifting it upwards with my fingernail. It popped off, and while doing so, the tape ejected. Under the button is a white plastic lever. I can use a small screwdriver to move the lever in order to open the door.

I put the blue button back on again. I see that the problem is the blue lever is not meeting up with the white lever to push it over.

I'm glad I can get my tapes out, however, now I don't want to leave it exposed to dust with a hole open.

How can I fix the button so it meets up with the lever properly?

SOURCE: "Tape Not Inserted" on Panasonic PV-DV203 palmcorder

hai, If you are service engineer you can do this problem, Please, check the cassette IN sensing Switch. The place of the Switch is right side of the mechanism, Clean S/w with IPA solution & check. It will be ok or other wise you have replace s/w or mechanism.

Try removing the battery. While holding the eject button, re-insert the battery.

2. press the menu button (near the viewfinder)

4. Choose "display setup" by pushing the wheel in
5. Choose "C. Rest" by pushing the wheel in

7. Next time you turn camera on you should be able to view tapes and record.

Power save function

Hi,
Do you put a tape in when you try to record or do you connect to a DVD / VCR so that it records onto the DVD or VHS?
If this is how you do it, then I will recommend you use a mini DV tape instead.
Hope this helps.
