Power issues with laptop

Hi I have a HP Pavillion ze5345us laptop that was workiing fine until the other day. Now when I plug in it shows it's charging so I fire up the computer and it gets to the main screen with icons and all then it shuts down. I have to remove the battery and put battery back to get it to restart but it keeps doing the same thing. When I remove the battery it has no power at all to the laptop. The power jack is firm so I don't think it's that. The battery is **** but it has been for a while and holds no charge. I have taken apart this laptop and cleaned and made sure things were tight. I am at my wits end. Any idea's?

I have already replaced all fans including the heat sink. The issue is a charging or lack of charging problem. The computer isn't on for even 3 minutes before the computer shuts down.

The charging light is on until it shuts off then it goes off and the computer is electrically dead until I remove and replace the battery and the orange light that shows the battery is charging comes on. I cannot run the laptop by the wall charger alone there is no power to start the computer. It is only when the battery (which is old and doesn't hold a charge anymore) is in the computer that I can get it to start up for even the 2-3 minutes. I wish it was as easy as an overheating problem.

We have tested the wall charging unit and find nothing wrong. We have checked the power jack and it is solid. Should I just get a new wall charger? Could it be just that?

As per your description, I understand that the issue is because of Overheating of the Notebook or the Cooling Fans are not functioning properly.
First of all, keep your arm at the bottom of the Notebook and check if you can feel any heat than normal and make sure that the cooling fans of the Notebook are spinning and are clean from dust. Also see that the Cooling Fan Vents are free from dust. Clean the above mentionad parts using a Air Blower or Vaccum Cleaner if possible.
There will be settings in BIOS by default where the computer will be turned off if the temperature of the CPU reached or exceeded a certain level to prevent further damage to the computer or processor and motherboard if the Processor over heats and burns.
Since you are able to start the Notebook without any errors or Bluescreens, all the other hardware components should be fine.
Hope this helps...

No power from cord to computer

If your laptop is under warranty go back to the manufacturer. If not go to hp center and buy a power cord of your charger which is totally fix to the charging hole.

Good luck

Pavillion wont work with battery

Hi there,
First, I recommend you to try removing and reinserting the Battery when the Notebook is turned on and powered with the Power Adapter.
I recomend you to first clean the Battery Connectors by removing the Battery and use a Earbud to clean the Metal Connectors which connect to the Battery to remove any dust which is peventing from the Battery to supply the required power to the Notebook.
