Question about HP Presario V2401cl Notebook
Hi I have a HP Pavillion ze5345us laptop that was workiing fine until the other day. Now when I plug in it shows it's charging so I fire up the computer and it gets to the main screen with icons and all then it shuts down. I have to remove the battery and put battery back to get it to restart but it keeps doing the same thing. When I remove the battery it has no power at all to the laptop. The power jack is firm so I don't think it's that. The battery is **** but it has been for a while and holds no charge. I have taken apart this laptop and cleaned and made sure things were tight. I am at my wits end. Any idea's?

As per your description, I understand that the issue is because of Overheating of the Notebook or the Cooling Fans are not functioning properly.
First of all, keep your arm at the bottom of the Notebook and check if you can feel any heat than normal and make sure that the cooling fans of the Notebook are spinning and are clean from dust. Also see that the Cooling Fan Vents are free from dust. Clean the above mentionad parts using a Air Blower or Vaccum Cleaner if possible.
There will be settings in BIOS by default where the computer will be turned off if the temperature of the CPU reached or exceeded a certain level to prevent further damage to the computer or processor and motherboard if the Processor over heats and burns.
Since you are able to start the Notebook without any errors or Bluescreens, all the other hardware components should be fine.
Hope this helps...
