Question about Whirlpool LHW0050PQ Front Load Washer

The drum on our LHW0050P will not spin

This is the second unit that we have had in the past 6 months (the first we sent back because it also stopped working). When we put a load of washing in the machine (setting Regular - Normal), the door locks and the machine fills with water, then nothing. The barrel doesn't spin at all until the end of the first wash cycle, the water then empties and remains on "Wash" for approximately 30 minutes when the "Done light" starts flashing and the door stays locked. We live in the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean, I am wondering if this problem could have been caused by the shipping down here, although no there are no visual signs of damage on the outside of the machine.

HI,

The first thing is that you will have to get it repaired.Since it is under warranty you don't need to worry.
If the cycle doesn't complete, check these:

Water-heating cycle
Timer
Water-heating cycle Many dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens next, depends, as follows:

  • On some units, the pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time.

  • On others, the cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If you have this type of dishwasher and the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too.

Timer Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault. Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it.

My frigidaire affinity will spin when washing but only spin the closes dry when on delegate cycle what could the problem be?

Hello Tony - Often when a unit does not spin it is because the unit cannot properly drain and dispose of the water and detergent solution. Does the drain pump make a humming noise? If so, there may be a restriction in the drain line or siphoning. Otherwise since it is such a complex unit I would recommend contacting a professional to have either the pump or timer diagnose. Also you might want to clean out the coin trap, filter trap, of the unit for extra security. This needs to be completed about every 6 months to prevent any issues.

1. Unplug the unit.

2. Tilt the unit up to where the front feet are in the air and the back feet are still on the ground. Please make sure the unit is propped up safely.

3. Now that the unit is propped up look inside on the bottom right hand side there is a black looking accordion thing. This is the coin trap.

4. Clean the drum out with as much water as possible and have towels ready. The next step you will have the remaining water come out.

5. At the top of the coin trap where it is attached to the drum is a silver spring with a silver screw. Loosen the screw and wiggle the coin trap down from the drum.

6
. Reach inside the coin trap and clean what is inside of it out.

7. Put the unit back together following the same steps backwards

Frigidare FLXG52Rb won't final spin

Does the unit have a drainage problem? Do you notice the unit draining at all? Often when a unit does not spin it is because the unit cannot properly drain and dispose of the water and detergent solution.

Not over use detergent, this can result in oversudsing in the tub, and restricting the tub from turning properly.

That the drain hose is not too long.

That the drain hose is not restricted.

That the standpipe is not higher than 96" from the floor.

You may have defective timer or drain pump.

Also you might want to clean out the coin trap, filter trap, of the unit for extra security. This needs to be completed about every 6 months to prevent any issues.

Duet whirpool washing machine stop and DLF sign appear

Hi,
Initially unplug the washing machine. While the washer remains unplugged, press and hold the [Start/Pause] button on the front panel for five seconds.
Plug the unit back in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test if the DL code is cleared.

If you still face the problem then follow the procedure:

Unplug the washer and allow the unit to sit for 30 minutes to give the suds time to dissolve.

Plug the washer back in and press [Power] to turn on the washer.

Do not choose a washing cycle. Press the [Spin Speed] key until "No Spin" is selected.

Press [Start/Pause] to begin a drain only cycle.

After the drain only cycle has completed, remove the clothing items from the machine. Turn the power back on and select [Rinse and Spin] and then press [Start/Pause].
This will remove excess soap suds and light residue from the drum.

Repeat this step until no visible suds are in the drum of the washer.

Hope this helps.

Frigidaire stacking washer will not spin in rinse or spin cycle

If the unit works when it is on the floor I would suspect three problems.
First make sure the unit is level using a bubble level checking left to right and front to back.
Second make sure the unit is securely on the dryer so when it spins it will not become unbalanced. You should see the washer spin slowly increase in speed and starting to violently shake then slow down again never achieving top speed if this is a problem.
The last possibility is to move the drain hose so it has a loop in it. Use a string, rope or hook it over something to hold the hose up so it will be at the height of the middle of the drum or higher and goes back down into the drain. Washers use a combination of a pump and capillary action to drain. This will also stop water seeping out of the hose when the drum is full allowing it to fill to full capacity.

Whirlpool LHW0050P doesnt spin now after repairing drain leak

You should recheck the wireing as you described in your problem and make sure that the water didn't short anything out. If not you should check the motor, motor coupler, the timer, or the start motor capacitor.

Final Spin Drum BANGS around--terribly frightening noise!

Check the spring that hold the drum in place. They are about 4-5 inches long on the top of the drum at about 2 and 10 o'clock. The springs suspend the drum and if broken the drum will bang around. About $40 to order springs online

Also check on the bottom at about 4 and and 7 o'clock because there are 2 shock absorbers that help keep the drum from just bouncing and bouncing with no end in sight. Again about $40 to change each one.

I am in the process of the first repair and doesn't seem too difficult. The second was done about 6 months ago and was not too difficult but was awkward because you had to lay on the floor to get the replacement pins in place.

Washer won't spin correctly after fitting new bearings

there are no others sensors in the drum, the module (a circuit board) controls the actions of the timer, it may be one or so wires were disturbed at the time of repair, check all connections, any out of balance sensors would only work with a heavy loaded drum? You did not comment as to the motor / drum action when washing from the start of the cycle?
