CAMERA WILL NOT POWER UP EVEN WITH FULLY CHARGED BATTRIES

Try non-rechargeable batteries, and try testing your rechargeable batteries because they do wear out.

The camera is totally dead. no power on.

I think the battery is bad. Try to recharge the battery and place it back. I hope it will retract the lens complete. Consider to buy a new battery or a complete new camera, because batteries can cost almost as much as a new camera.

This is a simple case of the Bat going dead, it does look from what I read that the Sony batteries do not seem to stand up long these days, I am hearing of this daily on the Mini Cameras, where my old faithful 8mm camera bat is 8 years old and as good as new.

My camera is not powering up at all, totally dead, but the battery is showing as fully charged?

this is a good camera this problem is 99% of battery contacts. if the camera is used for a long time then it happens. just clean battery contacts with pensil eraser put few drops of oil and wait for a day to resolve rust. clean it again and it should work. all the best

Why does the date and time setting screen appear when I turn on the camera?

Turning on the camera while the date and time are not set or after the date and time settings have been cleared due to a total cut off of power (which occurs when batteries are dead and the camera is not being supplied power via AC adaptor) causes the date and time setting screen to appear on the monitor screen. When this happens, be sure to set the correct date and time before doing anything else.
