Question about KitchenAid KAWS850LE Top Load Washer
I'm having problems with my model kaws750lq0 washing machine. What happens (and it doesn't happen with every wash) is once it gets to the Rinse cycle, it just sits there. I know a few minutes is normal, but it won't do anything until I do a Reset--(on water level knob) and move the water level up to a higher cycle, eg., from Small load up to Large load. Once it adds more water, it will then go through the Rinse cycle and spin as normal. Like I siad, it doesn't do this every time. Anyone have a similar problem or a fix? thanks, Mark
sounds like you need to replace your lid switch asssy part number 285671, unit not recognizing the door closed so for safetyreasons stops after first rinse and wont drain/spin. your tripping the switch by bangin on it

make sure that the program is not on the "Intermittent Agitate Program". that would be the cause of the delay.
the other issue would be the timer itself. the timer is mechanical, so once the contact on it is corroded, it will only function intermitently or not at all.
please let me know if i can be of more help.

I had the same problem 1 month ago, its probably the motor coupling for the direct drive. Its a small rubber Ring + a plastik drive. Its easy to change and not expensive.
Here the link for the part

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. If your washer doesn't drain or spin, you may read and learn what parts may cause this. First, you will want to check your water pump. You need to make sure it is working. Make sure you check the belt on the pump. Make sure it is not broken or loose. Also, make sure your pulley is not stuck in place. Sometimes, they will stick or barely turn at all. If this is the case, you will need to replace it. If the pump, pulley, and belt are working, make sure your motor is working. You should be able to hear it if it is. If it isn't, check your lid switch. The lid switch can cause the motor to not work. It may need adjusted. If not, go ahead and change it. A bad lid switch may cause the washer to not work at all. Now, if your pump is pumping and the washer still won't spin, you will want to check your belt and clutch. Once again, the belt may be broke or loose. Check to make sure your clutch is not worn also. This may be a case of a bad lid switch again as well. You could have a bad drive motor. This is what controls spinning, draining, and agitation. You could have a broken motor coupler. Over time, they will go bad and need replaced. It is possible that your transmission is slipping or damaged. And lastly, you could have a bad basket drive ir spin bearing. This is what allows the inner tub to move. If this is the case, you will probably hear loud sounds or loud banging.
