run setup from your cd
and connetct printer to pc only when
setup ask you to

This was taken directly from the HP website - This manual if for the entire 300 series which includes the F380..

maybe this is one of those printers that need to be connected directly to the power mains, not a power strips..check on that first

Please help for my HP Deskjet F380 All-in-one Printer, Copier & Scanner.
Scanner is not working with windows Vista.

I have this problem w/a different printer adding it to a computer w/OS Vista. Go to Start, All programs, Accessories, Paint and open that program. Click on File and then From Scanner or Camera. Make sure your all in one is turned on. Unfortunely, there is no fix to make the scanner button work if it is not compatable, such as my 'all in one' w/Vista. Hope this helps. Linda
