Connect your wii sound cable to the surround sound mixer under aux (if you have the input). That way when you play the game the sound will go directly in the sound system and the image on tv

Reset timer on tv and why surround sound doesnt work when int use to

The Timer and Sound are two different options and neither one should interrupt normal operations. You should open the TV Manual and follow the directions on setting up the Surround Sound. Forget the timer for now. When you get the Surround sound feature back....see if all functions work in concert. If the Surround fails after reestablishing the proper format; you may need to contact technical services at Panasonic. Have them walk you through the process.

Picture in concave on all sides and blue and red are off

The shape of the picture indicates that the convergence circuit is not working properly. Generally speaking this occurs without making any sound at all. The popping you heard may have been a capacitor in the power supply. If the power line effected supplied the convergence circuit, repairing the supply should return the set to normal. If not, then the convergence ICs may be faulty. If you can solder, and are confortable working inside the set where potentially dangerous high voltages exist (even when unplugged), you may be able to repeir this yourself.

Let me know and I'll provide additional details and instructions.

well this may not be that helpful, but if you decide to give up, you can always run the sound through your surround system or plain old stereo, and there are many ways of doing this

No sound

I suppose you have a surround sound system that is now not functioning? They must have disconnected your audio out cables from your television to your surround sound system. Make sure your main audio out channel on your television is connected to AV1 in on your surround sound system. It is probably an RCA cable (red and white). Then when you play your TV, make sure the audio is set on AV1 for your surround sound system by pressing the function button until AV1 is on the display. Let me know if this helps.

Mitsubishi VS-8087

There are L and R audio outputs in the rear, so you can hook it up to a surround sound system; no optical outs.
The screen size is 80 inches - but I'm sure your friend told you that.
