I went to turn my Sony STR-K1000P on to listen to music but the little screen on the receiver/amp is blank, wont play music or anything have tried unplugging but still nothin, any ideas on how to fix

If you are somewhat handy you can remove the cover with usually two screws on each side + 3 - 5 across the back edges. You can see where the power comes in with the power cord and that will usually go to a transformer and there will be a circuit board either on the transformer or before the transformer that has fuses on it. You can check these fuses by holding them up to the light and see if they have a filament still going through them or you can use a continuity tester on a multimeter. Make sure you have the unit unplugged before you attempt any of this. If you find that the fuse is blown replace with the same value fuse. Failure to do so can cause damage to your unit especially if there is another electrical problem causing the fuse to blow. If everything is fine for the fuse the next thing I would look at would be called the isolation transformer which is usually located on a small circuit board near the power supply. to check it you would have to be familiar with Electronics and testing equipment. if you are not do not attempt this on your own.

Bose acoustimass series 5 subwoofer doesn't work

I guess it is powered. If so,check the fuse, then transformer. If these are Ok,then there's probably a fault in the power circuit.

I have a Technics SA - DX750 Amp Everytime I turn it on I get an error message F70 and then it requests that I turn the power off. This is all it does now, so sound. How do I solve this issue I have...

Hi!

The F70 error certainly indicates a blown fuse inside.
The real problem is why the fuse is blown: there are only two possible reasons
1. there is a short circuit on the output (lines or speakers)
2. you have a blown output transistor (and that means some work and skills to replace).

To be sure, please change the fuse with a same rated fuse (buy more than one because it can blow again). Disconnect the speakers and turn the amp on. If the fuse blows again, it is sure something wrong with the output transistors. If the fuse remains ok, then please check all the wiring to the speakers.

Hope it helped.

Bogdan

My Sony receiver is an STR-DE675. The subwoofer stopped working after I moved the receiver, disconnected the cable and reconnected the cable a few times. I have changed the cable and used a different...

I didn't look up the schematic for this exact model, but many of these units have the surround amps on "cards" just like a computer has a video card or network card, and these can come unseated in a move. Open up the unit, and reseat any cards that are in the unit.
You can check fuses while you're inside the unit as well.

No sound output sony str

Unplug and replug connections in firmly and try again. Nothing? Check that the subwoofer is getting power. The sub sometimes has a built in fuse. Check that the fuse is not blown.

Connecting a Sony Subwoofer SA-W2500 to a STR DE 598

It is based on your sub-woofer type..whether powered or passive sub woofer..
Assume that you have powered one..RCA sub woofer jack is the best to feed it ..you should use RCA sub woofer output on your receiver as well..good luck

I have a technics sa-ax7 receiver and have sudenly lost sound on the right hand speakers.can they still be repaired. What could be the problem. Thanks

1). Look for a blown fuse on back - or inside. I had this similar problem with a Technics SA 5060 (vintage) receiver, and there were 2 separate fuses for left and right channels. One may be blown.
2). Try switching speakers (physically switch the left and right input plugs in their jacks - or wires if no jacks. If the left speaker doesn't work now, there is an issue with the speaker that has no sound. Run an ohm meter on these speakers as well to check them. There should be 8 ohms approximately. If no reading, then your apeaker is probably blown. If you can see a short on ohm meter 0 ohms) then you have a short circuit in your speaker.

SA-AX720 no subwoofer signal?

THIS UNIT HAS NO SUB WOOFER AMP IN IT. THE ONLY WAY TO OVER COME THIS IS TO HOOK THE LEFT AND RIGHT FRONT SPEAKERS STRAIGHT TO THE SUB WOOFER AND THEN GO FROM THE SUB WOOFER BACK TO THE INPUTS ON THE BACK OF THE UNIT FOR THE FRONT SPEAKERS. THE SUB WOOFER THIS WAY WILL EXTRACT THE BASS AND THE FRONT WILL RECEIVE THEIR PART. THIS SOUNDS CRAZY AS HELL I KNOW BUT THAT'S HOW I GOT MINE TO WORK. THE OUTPUT FOR THE SUBWOOFER IS USELESS AND PUT THERE FOR YOU TO HOOK UP AN AMP FOR A SUB WOOFER. EVERYTHING HAS SHORT COMINGS, AND THAT'S THE ONE FOR THE AX-720.
