I need a oweners manual for a copier. zerox 5818

I went to xerox.com and found this page for the 5818 :

http://www.support.xerox.com/support/xerox-5818/support/enus.html

but I could not find the owners manual, but there are contact #'s English 1-800-821-2797
Spanish 1-800-821-7726
and email support. If you ask them, they may be able to email you the manual.

Also, there is a "Frequently asked questions" area that may address some of your concerns

U4-6 Status Codes "Web End of Life"... After replacing the web you must reset the web counter: Hold the "0" while turning the main power on. Then enter "10" & press "Start Print". Enter "63" & "Start Print". Enter "0", display will show CC. Press "Start Print" dn should show. Turn power off & after 10 seconds on again.

We have a Xerox copier 5818 and it has an error code of U7 which indicates to contact a service technician. Not finding one in our area. Do you know what this code indicates and can we fix it ourselves?

Normally changing the copy cartridge will resolve it.
There is also a belt hole sensor mounted on the front of the machine, It is located on the upper frame about half way back.
You can identify it this way. It has 2 screws in it and has 2 heavy red high voltage wires running out of it.
The screws sometimes strip and it is out of position, or the window on it is dirty.
But I would assume the copy cartridge needs replaced

I have an IR-3300 Model xerox machine. It was

The two problems may not be related. Adding toner should not under most circumstances cause copies to become light, unless the toner you are using is of a poor quality - I hope it is a Canon cartridge or quality generic. It sounds as though your fixing film or drum unit may need replacing, or perhaps you need to perform a install procedure. As the 'install - toner - start' option is free, try it first:

First press the head key and then the number '2' and '8' keys at the same time then press the head key again. This will take you into service mode - select 'copier' then 'install' then 'toner' then 'start'. This will run throught a cycle that takes a little while, I think about 599 seconds (sorry for been so accurate but unhelpful but that's what I remember from the display - never converted into minutes but you're welcome to).

But if you are having blurry or even dirty or light copies it may be the fixing film. When the copies are printed, immediately check if you can rub off the toner at all by rubbing the print with your fingers - if so this indicates that the fixing unit is not hot enough or there is not enough pressure - check that the fuser is in properly and that the jam release lever is not engaged.

Lastly, it could be your drum unit that is faulty or worn. Totest this you will need to try and stop the machine in the middle of printing before it reaches the fuser - open the front cover and latch down the transport bed with the green handle - remove the paper gently so as not to disturb the ink in any way and observe the image quality - if it is displaying the exact same symptoms then it is not your fuser and is probably the drum unit or dodgy toner - most likely the drum. However, if the image is fine, then it most definetely is your fuser film (and or perhaps the cleaning roller that cleans the film).

Good luck

Rank xerox 5328 U9

if its a u9-1 code it is the lamp that is faulty. Sometimes it can be the connections either end of the lamp but normally the lamp itself. It will probably cost as much to fix as it would to get a new one to be honest

Xerox xc1045 copier machine

If it starts to make a copy and the light comes on then stops in the middle there is a problem w/the connection.
check the cable that turns on the light it may have a cut and is not making contact in a particular spot. If not then it may be the board that controls the lamp.

Copier does not finish copying

Try removing the glass, and clean the mirrors with a lint free clothe. Also check to make sure the toner cartridge is seated corrected inside
