Question about Mitsubishi VS-50605 50" Rear Projection Television
TV purchased new (way back when) and rarely used. Push the power button on the face of the TV and the green light comes on (the light is located directly between the power button and the word "timer"). Absolutely nothing else happens. No picture, no nothing. I verified that the inbound signal exists by attaching it to another TV. Signal is fine.
Also, the remote is totally inoperative (whether this has anything to do with it or is another symptom/problem). New batteries makes no diff.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi Vs-50605 TV dead
First thing on a Dead VZ7 to check is the solder connection at the yokes "DY" Connector. Then Check C411 2200uf @ 35V
Then C412 10uf @50V. Then Check IC700 Pin 20 for 0VDC any voltage other than 0VDC on that pin means Diode D980 is leaky.
Hope this helps. If you need anything further let me know.

The power supply caps in the light engine power supply were faulty when they were installed. You need to remove the power supply and take it to your local electronics shop where they can remove the (7) faulty 1000uf 16v electrolytic capacitors and insert new ones. If you remove the power supply yourself (takes only a philips screwdriver) and reinstall it yourself, the electronics shop shouldn't charge you for more than an hour worth of time. The caps would be about $10.
Here's a photograph (thanks Don Crawford).

Unplug the tv and leave it unplugged for a couple hours. Plug tv back in press reset button. TV led may flash for a day but should come on. I did this last night to mine and it came on at 11am today.
