If you use outlook, eudora or another email software, you will probably need to setup th mail SMTP server in account properties, to sky server.

Where you find smtp.tesco.net, you need to change to smtp.tools.sky.com.

If all your email settings are ok, and you can send emails to other addresses, then the problem is with Sky Broadband DNS server, in that case call Sky and let them know.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

What is my e.mail

Hi there
When you signed up to Sky they should have given you an email address. Alternatively they may have just given you a Username or Sky ID, in which case your email address will be this Username or Sky ID followed by "@sky.com"
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

I have a ibookg4 i am a sky broadband user when i try to send photos from iphoto it won't let me when i compse photo i get taken to safari mail i tries to send but puw drops down and says it doesn't...

You can change the settings for what mailer you are using. In iphoto go to preferences under general you can choose the mailer you want to send with e.g. entourage or apple mail.

I am not sure if this is what you are having problems with but I would state categorically it is not your broadband settings. If it does not help could you add a comment to this query and I'll get back to you.

If I were to change ISP from Tesco.net to Sky.com, can I still use my current e-mail address (drumsharp@tesco.net) Also, if I used (drumsharp@sky.com) could users of my current name be rerouted to the new...

That might be possible, but tesco might charge you a monthly fee for maintaining your current email address. And yes, you could autoforward emails from your old email address to the new one. My advise here would be for you to contact tesco first to know if you could keep your current email add first.

I am with virgin broadband but to go onto the net i click on microsoft internet explorer which is provided by tesco. but how can i change this to virgin

tesco just put their logo on top of IE (I'm assuming you used to use tesco before virgin). you're still accessing through virgin now so should be no problem.

are you seeing any problems or is it just the annoyance of still seeing tesco in IE?

also what version of IE are you using?

How do i configure my Belkin router to work with Sky broadband?

I'm not into hacking what I cannot find on ISP's sites

From what I can gather from the Sky Broadband site reading the manual installation procedures -- the process is pretty much automatic when it comes to installing their equipment leaving no clues as to how they configure it. What is the model if the Belkin router? Options probably exist to attach your device to theirs either as a router (establishing a second network behind theirs) or an access point joining as a member of their network - meaning there would would be two wireless networks in either case in the house (as there are no indications I have found on the site that the provided the sky router can be configured in any way such as turning off wireless). At least according to the documentation the sky router's wireless is running WPA-PSK security / encryption which is good -- and the documentation for attaching non-sky wireless adapters appears to be documented here.
