FI stands for Fuel Injection. The fuel system sensors have detected a problem. It could be anything > a dirty air filter restricting airflow, a plugged injector, an error in fuel mapping, any number of things. Serious problems can trigger the computer to prevent the engine from starting until the problem is fixed. You will need to take the bike to a dealer to have them plug in a code reader. The code reader will tell you exactly what problem has been detected. There is also a chance a sensor has gone bad and is giving a false signal. Keep that in mind. Now determine if you want to do the fix or have the dealer do it.

I turned on the computer and the screen stayed blank

Hi
Turn the computer on while pressing F1 several times as it loads.
Did it load?
Now try same procedure but press F8 instead. This opens the BIOS setup page.Don't change anything but 'save changes and exit'.

When I pushed the bake oven button on, I heard a loud pop! I thought a light bulb above my range (microwave oven bulb) blew out. Then F1 came on the range screen. We turned off the power to the range...

Hello,

The F1 error code means one of two thing;either the touchpad is bad or a relay on the conrtol has shorted out. Well the loud pop and the F1,their is not doubt that a relay on the control has indeed shorted out. The fix for that is to replace teh control
PLEASE NOTE A SHORTED RELAY WILL MAKE THE HEAT ELEMENT TO STAY ON AT ALL TIMES AND THE BREAKER MUST BE LEFT TURNED OFF AT ALL TIMES UNTIL THE CONTROL HAS BEEN REPLACED OR IF LEFT ON THEIR WILL BE A VERY VERY GOOD CHANCE OF THE OVEN/HOUSE CATCHING FIRE

When I turn my computer on the monitor stays off. I press the monitor's power button and the orange light above it goes off, obviously turning it off. I press it again and the light turns blue, the words...

the monitor is not getting any video information from your computer .. check the connection at the computer to make sure it is fully plugged in .. make sure the video card (if it has one) is securely in place ... make sure the monitor is actually plugged into the right connector .. you may have a bad video card or a damaged cable to your monitor .. you can plug the monitor into another computer to make sure its ok ..

Wont boot. lights 3 & 4 stay on.

Lights 3 and 4 ON indicate a problem with the RAM modules. Have you changed the configuration lately?

You will need to try the modules one at a time to try to pinpoint the faulty module. How much RAM do you have in and in what amounts?

Note: When you change RAM amounts you will get a messgae about the memory change and have to hit F1 or F2. F1 will continue to boot. F2 will take you into the BIOS.

You can use the Comment button to reply.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Oven will not light - get F1 code

Your touch pad or control board is bad.
To determine what is bad, disconnect the ribbon strip to the board.
If you receive a code replace the board.
If no code appears, replace the touch pad.
