GLTF2940ES buzzing sound, won´t start any cycle

I have had a frigidaire GLTF2940ES since May 07 and a few days ago, during a cycle it started making a buzzing sound. We stopped it and took some load off to see if that was the problem, but now it won't start at all. There is water in the bottom of the drum and it seems to me it cannot drain it. There was also a large amount of water on the hose. How can I reach the drain pump to check if there is something stuck there ? There is a front cover below the door but I cannot see any screws from the front, are there screws below ? Or is it held by clips ? I cannot check since I have a dryer on top of the washing machine and would need some help to get it off. Any ideas or suggestions on how to act ?

I had the same issue, it was an underwire stuck in the pump. Very easy to fix, lay the washer on it's back, remove the two screws holding the bottom cover in place. Then remove the clamp holding the hose coming from the drum into the pump. The underwire was right there.

I had the same issue it was an underwire stuck in the pump. I fixed it myself by removing the bottom cover of the waher by laying it on its back and removing the two screws holding the cover in place. I then removed the clamp that holds the hose coming out of the drum and going into the pump. Right inside of the hose was an underwire from a bra.

My washer wouldn't spin, then gave me a door error then wouldn't lock. So I changed out the motor wax. Be careful opening the housing to replace that because it's got a spring in it. That didn't work. So I changed the door lock and switch assembly (which includes the wax motor). That didn't do it. So we took off the black drain boot. Note: heed the bucket warnings, that stuff stinks. We accessed it through the front panel, but my model must be a little different because we had a bunch of screws to take out, plus the top, and the door gasket and unplug some misc. part. It might have been accessable from the bottom cause theres a hole in it. Oops...
Anyway, we retrieved 75 cents mostly pennies and a bunch of hair pins. The filter basket had dropped down into the bottom of the boot and we think that is what really was what did it.
So now we're gonna work backwards and return any parts we don't need. repair clinic gives a money back guarantee.
What we learned. Start with the free stuff first even if it sounds harder. Even if your husband wants to argue with you. Even if you have ADD, Clean the stinking hoses out first! Total cost $100.53. Time spent first time 45 min. Hardest part trying to put the spring back on the door gasket (trick here is to put the spring part on last) Second time 15 minutes tops. Cleaning out the boot about an hour and one small fight.

Washer pauses during wash

Good Morning Friend,

I understand your Frigidaire washer, model# GLTF2940ES, is pausing during the wash. There could be a miscommunication between the different boards inside your appliance. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and start any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

When i turn it on, it buzzes and doesn't start

Sounds like the control board won't allow the motor to begin the cycle. Contact a professional for an accurate diagnosis.

My GLTF 2940 makes a buzzing sound like a relay not pulling in all the way, during the rinse cycle. If you shut off the washer, and restart it on the rinse only cycle, it goes away.

its probably your cold water rinse only valves solenoid thats loose on the structure or the coil itself is loose, you may not hear it all the time especially during the initial wash start fill, try this, set the washer for cold water fill only on the washer, but turn off the water valves that supply water and start your machine to a wash cycle as normal, try this and see if it dry buzzes(without water),then try the same on the hot side, then with the water still off open up the machine and you can localize the buzzing noise

Makes buzzing noise and won't spin or drain

Sounds like something is stuck in the drain pump.  If nothing is stuck in the pump replace the pump.  It won't spin until it drains, so fixing the drain problem will fix the spin.  You can get at the drain pump by taking off the bottom panel.

Machine stopped in mid-cycle - Have not been able to drain water or start another cycle

Ababu, sounds like there is somethng in the pump. You are are on the right track. If the pump is buzzing sounds like you are getting power to it. Get yourself a pan or bucket ready and remove the clamps from the pump. Check to see if anything is lodged in the impeller. Clean it out and try it again. back
