Hi jimali1987,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: Smoke is coming from lower rear of unit.

Unplug! Remember where there's smoke there's fire. Get access to compressor and find the burnt wire or whatever it was. I have found burnt animal nest in the past. You never know.

Start components or wiring could be getting old and brittle. Take the back cover off. Its usually a cardboard cover with metal screws and inspect/repair the wiring.

I have smoke coming out of the freezer fan grill and water dripping outside on each side of the shell between the freezer and refrigerator. What is the problem?

Your drain may be plugged and water is getting onto the fan's electrical.
Go to back of the unit, remove access panel, check that the little drain tube is dripping water into the evap tray. Tray should be somewhat wet. You can use pipecleaner or coathanger to check for clogs in drain. Or cut the bottom rubber piece off to allow better flow..

Woodpecker sound every 10 to 15 minutes

Check and see if nosie is coming from inside freezer or behind refrig. Make a big dif as to where it is coming from. Also need to know if it only does it late at night or all the time.

Best way to tell if it is inside freezer is to open the freezer door, hold in on the light switch(s) for about three min. or so and see if you hear it. If it is there, then you either have a defrost prob and ice is building up around evap fan or you have a bad evap fan.

If from the back of unit, then pull rear metal cover on lower back and see if you hear it there. You may have a varmit that got caught between fan blade and housing..... be can get hurt or electrical shocking....
