Back to the ink problem,
remove all ink tanks
check & clean ink tanks & the ink tank holder (specially the contacts) with soft dry wipes
then re-seat them all

The input tray has adjustable paper guides and slides out of the
printer's body smoothly--almost too smoothly, as there are no stops. An
additional input tray flips out of the rear of the printer, for paper
types you might use less commonly. This, too, has an adjustable paper
guide, but we found it hard to slide.

Set the paper in the ASF, and press the OK button

Make sure the correct paper source is set
Clean any foreign objects from the machine
Press the On / off switch to reset the device

Check for Obstructions in the Auto Sheet Feeder (ASF)
If paper does not reach the Paper Edge Sensor, the LCD will show [LOAD PAPER].
Power off the printer.
Remove paper from the (ASF).
Look in the ASF area for an obstruction. If there is any foreign material (such as a piece of metal or pen) inside the printer, after turning the printer off and removing the power cord from the outlet, remove the foreign material by hand, or with tweezers.
Open the scanning unit (printer cover) and confirm that there is no foreign material in the printer. If there is any foreign material, remove it.
Close the scanning unit (printer cover).
Power on the printer and confirm that the printer operates normally.
Reset the device when it is not functioning properly.
If the device is not functioning properly or to clear memory, reset it.

Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the

Usually answered in minutes!
When I clicked on the "soft-manufaktura" address you gave, I received nothing but a blank page eventhough I waited 15 min. Since we are in a rural area, we can have only Dial-Up and my computer is extremely slow. That solution did not help.
