Need to replace the water filter tube on my Kitchen Aid KFIS29PBMS01 french door bottom freezer. How do you remove the water filter housing from the inside of the refrigerator to replace the tube?

Ok this is a hard one first take the two screws out near the filter just. That take a screw driver any pry the cover down start close to the ice maker side its held on with clips you will think its going to brake but just slowly pull it that back has hooks so once the front is loose don't yank use a flash litecyou will see three hook molded in the cover pull towards you the will come out disconnect lite harness and there will be a few more screw holding the housing up than you can get the filter out you do have to rotate the housing to remove

My frigidare 241968503 is leaking water around where you plug the filter in?

Took out filter, placed forefinger firmly over one outlet and sucked, with my mouth on the other. heard seeping noise and found clear casing cracked very slightly where it is melded with the white front plate. This is a much simpler check before you start getting out your tools! Solution, replace filter and cross your fingers that this stuff made in Singapore will hold up for a few more months.

Frigidare did get water out or make ice

Since both functions are not performing, check your water supply, a clogged filter, a bent supply line, a supply line that is turned off. Internally it could be that every thing is frozen up or your water valve is bad. Joe

Leaks at the filter of a frigidare side by side SXS FEFRIGERATO

Assuming this is a side by side, with the water filter located at the top back of fresh food side, assuming filter is unclogged, i.e., new, check the housing that the filter slips into, that which you actually grasp and turn to remove the filter. If there are any cracks in this filter housing, you will need to replace it. If the cover is sound, the problem will lie within the housing assembly, that which you screw the filter cover into. This housing is held on with 2 or 3 screws. IN order to remove the water lines, you must squeeze the white collar towards the housing, away from the water line, while at the same time gently tugging the water line. If you squeeze the collar correctly, the line should come right out. Make sure to connect ONE line at a time. Do not disconnect both and reattach at the same time. If the lines are reversed, you will damage the filter and possibly water system itself. attach water filter and check again. if filter cover is ok, and this does not fix your problem, without personal inspection, i cant help you further. Filter is leaking

there is a rubber ring on the filter cover that provides a seal. make sure that is still there and not pinched or broken. if it is dried out, replace the gasket or rub it with vasoline and reinstall. on the tubing going to it, there should be compression fittings and/or threaded connectors that have thread tape on them to seal the thread. if one of those are leaking due to filter movement, just tighten them down. if they still leak, you'll need to replace the connector or the thread tape.

Water filter compartment leaking

If you have already replaced the filter and you can see the housing is still leaking, You have to replace the housing and water tank as an assembly (12956202). Make sure you verify it's the filter housing leaking, and not a fitting at the water valve which is right behind the plastic cover around and below the filter housing.

Water leak at filter

You probably will have to replace the water filter housing that holds the water filter. This is an relatively easy job and should only take about 30 min. The housing will cost around $40-$50 online or from your appliance store. Turn off the water to the fridge. Take the top shelf out of the fridge to access the water filter area. There is a small screw in a really deep hole on the bottom of the cover, just to the right of the filter cup. I used a really small socket (9/32",1/4" or 9mm - can't remember) and extention. Take out the screw which will uncover the housing. The water hoses (white) just slip onto the housing - check these to verify if they are on tight. If they are loose this is the water leak. if they are on tight (which I'm sure they are) then proceed. Take off the filter cup which is screwed onto the housing. Remember "righty tighty - lefty loosy". Take another small screw (maybe two) out which holds the housing to the refrigerator. Now pull the water hoses off the housing. This is kinda tuff because the hoses are just slid on to the housing and are held on by friction only and its hard to get a good grasp because of the location of the unit. You can't really stick much under the hoses to pry them off either because if you damage them, they won't hold the seal later. Just pull and twist and they should come off. Visually inspect the housing unit, you should be able to see a crack if there is one. Replace if necessary. Just make sure not to overtighten the screws and especially the filter cup when reinstalling. Good luck and I hope this helps.
