Question about Coleman Powermate Powermate 5000W Generator

No power out put

Ihave a coleman powermate 1850 plus generator.it runs but it has no power out put from the outlets

After checking all connections check for power from the end of the alternator. if there is no power it is either the diodes in the end of the alternators rotor or the capacitor has blown ( round barrel shaped device with four prongs on ) When changing capacitor make sure you get the correct size mesured in micro farads.

I have a coleman powermate 6250-5000 running watts-generator. The generator starts and runs but does not produce current to outlets,the outlets are fine-they have continunity,I removrd the armature and...


You may have just lost residual magnetism in your rotor. Start genset then apply 12 vdc to 120 v outlet for less the 1 seconds. This will be enought to restore the residual magnetism to the rotor and the unit should be producing power now.

i advice you not to keep it plugged in too long...just about enough to get it workin....
:had a bad over-charge axcident..

Pull start recoil assembly


I bought a replacement recoil starter for my 1850 at Pats small engine parts. The part number for a 3.5 B & S is 499706. If you look on the heat shield on the side of the motor there is the engine model and s/n. Hope this helps.

Hello;
Take a look at your outlets. Some of these units use pretty cheap outlets and short out. You will know if it is bad when you look at it. Hope this helps.
