Question about Proscan 26LB30QD 26 in. LCD HDTV

The screen turns on hen off

I have a proscan 26lb30q and i hooked up very thing. (just my cable box) but it urns one for about a second then turns off. Can you help?

    I bought this tv for my husband who is in iraq and he has the same problem. Sears is saying since it left the states there is no longer any warranty. Poor guy is stuck with a broken tv and im out $400.

Just try to reset;

Resetting the TV
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can saved time.
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet for 3 - 4 hours.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

Why can't I get the DVD player to work? I have it hooked up to a cable box.


im wondering why you did not connect it to the tv ?? but instead to cable box , does it have a pass thru capability ?? does it need to be off to pass thru ?? as most dvd player don't have a rf output but instead use a hdmi or composite signal output , would it not be easier to connect one of these to a spare input on tv then when u want to use dvd you only need to select the proper input from tvs source button to view the dvd ??

You can only do this if the TV has an input for the computer, it would be the "RGB" in video input options menu of the TV.

when water shorts out something it overloads a lot of other components so the best advice is to take it in for a proper diagnosis.
you just replace a board but another board is damaged it might just blow the board you replaced and that would prove nothing

No, all settings and selections you've entered such as device codes, favorite channels, and recent On Demand selections are saved and available after resetting your Set-Top Box.

Resetting your Router and Set-Top Box
Always reset your Router first and then check to see if that resolves the issue. Resetting your router may be all that is needed.
Important note about your router To avoid problems with your FiOS TV service, make sure your router is plugged in and turned on at all times. Even if you are not currently using the Internet, your router still needs be turned on so that FiOS TV can function properly.
