Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Lenovo 3000 J205-968654u I have lost the sound. I try to download the driver, but it tells me no audio device in control panel-sounds. I hve the microsoft UAA bus driver for high def audio. I have heard...

Hi,

Control Panel - Device Manager - SOUNDS - look for HD Audio - Mine says RealTek High Definition Audio
(that is an example and yours may have an entirely different name/maker).

Write down description make and model - double click on it - drivers tab - write down version. Now
Click UPdate Drivers which may not do anything as MS is far behind certifying drivers. Then RIGHT
CLICK on it and UNINSTALL - REBOOT - this will rebuild the driver stack.

1st go to system maker's site and look for latest driver Download - SAVE - go to right click on and RUN AS ADMIN
(This is your fallback.) REBOOT after each driver installation.

NOTE : Sound drivers often rollback so check the version after installation and the reboot to see if the
version you installed is there, if not repeat the install - reboot until it is. It can take several tries depending
on how many rollbacks it does.

Then do same for Device Maker's site.

Manually look at manufacturer's sites for drivers - and Device Maker's sites.

I am newly instal xp operating system in my pc

It looks as though that model of Compaq has the Realtek High Def audio chipset - try http://tinyurl.com/6f793u for a download from the realtek site - it appears as if that desktop originally had Vista installed on it from Compaq, so the Compaq driver is probably too new for the older XP operating system. Hope this helps!!!

Computer saying high definition audio device working as does the

click on START-SETTINGS-CONTROL PANEL- DOUBLE CLICK "SYSTEM"- SELECT THE "HARDWARE" TAB AT THE TOP- CLICK THE DEVICE MANAGER BUTTON-
NOTE: Any entries found here with a YELLOW ! OR ? are drivers the are corrupt, wrong or installed incorrectly. They will need to be uninstalled and new updated drivers downloaded from the internet installed in thier place.

You can download all the drivers you need for your Compaq Presario C772tu at this web link:

http://www.zyxware.com/articles/2008/04/04/drivers-for-compaq-presario-c772tu-laptop-for-windows-xp

Please make sure to follow the steps to the audio drivers exactly as you need to make sure you have the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture Bus Driver for High Def Audio installed before you install the other audio driver.

I've read that this is time consuming but it works..good luck!
