I had the same problem and had the TV serviced and found that the y board was blown $350 total. The repair guy explained that the board has a hot transister underneath that slowly leaked onto the board, but says that they can not get Samsung to admit to the problem. Works fine now but only have a 90 day warrenty on the parts.

It appears that the Main bd is bad. Try using Component cables instead of the HDMI cables and see if there is a change. If there is a change to normal picture then try another HDMI cable. If the problem returns then replace the Main bd. There three Main bds for this basic model number. You will need the version# found on the right side of the set to order the correct bd.

Hi, After 4 years long, my Plasma decided to have some blinking black the top half of the screen after watching tv for 10 min. Can you please point me to the right direction on what to replace? Many...

The first thing I would do if it were mine (and I'm a tech) and had those symptoms would be to clean the ribbon cables coming from the upper Y drive board. That's the skinny one on the left side to the left of the Y main. Be careful, if you damage the ribbon then you throw the set out. If that doesn't cure it then you can look at the Y Main. There are some small silver tin-can type capacitors towards the top that quite often go bad. If you have a cap checker that will make it a whole lot easier and faster. I can't see replacing the whole board for a few bad parts.

Hi, My Samsung hp s5053 plasma is broke anyone can help me please!

A TV repair shop is your best bet - the problem is likely the power supply - check the fuse.
