If you're using component cables I would suspect one is not connected or working. Isolate by swapping them around. OR bypass the whole receiver. What does it really do for external source video anyway besides offer opportunities for cable issues and degradation?

I always run my video directly to my TV.

Marantz SR 3001 won't turn on

Check for shorted speaker wires - if none found, disconnect speaker / select headphones and see if you hear music thru the headphones. If not - you may have burnt out power transistors, etc.

Poor viewing quality

By poor color quality, do you mean that if you turn the color control all the way down, the black and white picture is more like black and red, green or blue - or do you have a good black and white image? If the B&W image is good, and the TV is an old (8+ years) one, maybe the mirror inside the set needs a good cleaning - especially if there are smokers in the room. If you have a B&W picture that is tinted, then you may have to go into a service menu to adjust it back to a better picture. Hard to guess the problem without more specific description of symptoms.

How do i change the picture on my camera from coloured to black and white ?

You can select the color mode to Black and white to shoot images in black and white. If you have already captured the images in color, you can use a software in computer to change the color mode to black and white.

Thanks for understanding.

Please let me know if you require any clarifications.

I would like to print some color pictures in black & white but I cant get it to do it. Any ideas

The black ink produces dark images while color ink produces multicoloered images. Once pictures that appear in color on the computers word documents are dispensed for printing, the color ink makes possible requests. It is impossible to request black charaters from colored ink on the printer.

Manual too confusing

The easiest way to think of your equipment is that in it's name is it's function; it "receives" signals. Then sends them out through the speakers. There are only a few exceptions in that there may additional outputs depending on the design...they may be for video or external amplifiers.
All of your components you would like to connect to the receiver will have output connections. Power off all components. Connect those to the labeled input on the receiver. If a component that you are connecting has both audio AND video such as a DVD player or TV, both connections must be made to the same input section to be able to use them simultaneously.

My subwoofer isn t working with my MarantzSR3001.

If the sub is good, then check the cable to the sub, check the level in receiver settings and check your surround modes. sounds like your problem is in setup menu if the sub is ok. Hope this helps
