Re: Blank screen

Thank you very much indeed for sharing your time to me. re: F8 there's no "enable VGA mode" in my notebook, only "enable low-resolution video (640x480)" I've tried to select that but blank screen appears again. After a while maybe more than 2 minutes, a scroll bars appears with the "Microsoft Corporation" and it was stuck there for an ages until I turn it off. I owe you a lot if you can resolute my problem, My gratitude.

Thank you so much El-Tokyo, yes there's a new version of Bios for my notebook. The problem is, how can I update the bios? since the screen goes blank(gray) after the Microsoft Corporation scroll bar. The OS is Vista Home Premium.

it seems we need to take our big guns out for this one hehe. we need to run your operating system's recovery disk. may i know what is the operating system of the laptop and also the brand & the model.

upon start up there are a lot of drivers on windows that are loading unfortunately for us were not sure what it is that is causing the prob.

Check the BIOS version of your notebook. Then go to support.toshiba.com to check if there is an updated version. Then update ur BIOS. It might help. If your toshiba notebook is a canadian model, then visit toshiba.ca/support instead.

Black screen comes up on normal mode. only able to run on safe mode.

When you power up the computer press F8 key 5 to 6 times then you can see some menu enter in "Enable vga mode" then go to control panel->display property change screen resolution to 1024*768 then aplly and ok then check.
If same in enable vga mode then enter in safe mode and uninstall graphic driver then reinstall it in normal mode.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi,

Try to use ENABLE VGA MODE when booting Windows.

1. Restart computer.
2. Press F8 continuously untill selection tabs appear.
3. Select ENABLE VGA MODE.

If this procedure works, adjust the Monitor setting or display setting on your control panel to lower settings.

If this procedure works, please spare a little time to rate my solution.
