Wash machine initially allows water to enter the detergent tray and into the drum, then nothing, drum does not rotate, clicking noise can be heard from top right of machine.\r\nDrain function works, spin function initially drains then after a short period time display jumps from 9 mins to 1 mins without the drum rotating. Drive belt not broken, drum rotates easily by hand.

You're start/pause button should pause the cycle, cancell should completely cancell. After pressing the Start/Pause within a cycle, the door lock may require time to unlock as indicated by the lock light on the panel.
That happened to us when there was a piece of clothing (in this case a sock) that somehow left the drum and got lodged in the tube that feeds water into the drum. The entering water pours into and through the detergent tray, so when the tube feeding the drum is blocked, you get water pouring out of the detergent tray.
We had a repairperson come out to fix it, and he disassembled the whole thing enough that he could get at that tube and dislodge the sock. The next time it happened, I did the same thing, and managed to get it cleared as well. If you're not comfortable taking apart big chunks of your washer, it's probably smarter to let a qualified repairperson do this repair.
water in base after overfoaming has leak detection if you can tip machine back this water will run onto floor allowing unit to rest, make sure you put down some rags towel etc to trap water there will be up to a pint of water.
I had similar issue. Fill tube running from the bottom of detergent tray to the washer drum was plugged.... (by a sock!!!). How did it get there? I'll tell you. You see the drum seal (around the inside of the door) is not a tight seal. You can actually reach up behind it from where it meets the top of the drum. Anyway in my case, a sock made it's way through that seal and outside the drum and into the drum containment vessel. So when the drum spun (to dry the clothes and empty the water) it made a terrible noise. The sock became lodged at the base of the fill tube opening and plugged it thus not allowing any water into the drum. Instead, when filling, the water just flowed out from the bottom of the detergent tray and onto the floor. I hope this helps.
This suggestion is not too good. If your dispenser opens at the initial stages of the cycle, just a little - pour some water into the dispenser to wash down the detergent. (For my machine i can pull out the dispenser anytime during the wash, except when water comes into the dispenser, but even then i think the water enters the tub.)
For this you dont have to hang around the machine for long for it is in the initial stages of the cycle.
Later you hv to check the flow of water into the dispenser. Hv no idea how to do it; but i gave you a quick solution.
try using liquid wash detergents placed in a plastic ball inside the drum, instead of using powder placed in the soap drawer, because the residue of powder left in the drawer allows bacteria to build up, thats what causes the 'black deposit' you speak of, its very difficult to remove
