G'day

You can get a free downloadable copy from the Fender site here.

Any problems, please get back to me before rating. If this sorts it for you, a FixYa is a great reward for finding this for you.

If its still in its box, where is the handbook? If you need one go online to the main website. Try marantz.co.uk for a handbook.

Fender Champion 600

it is possible to "blow" the input channel if you turn the volume up above a quarter( if it's set by numbers, say 1 low and 30 max then set to 6 or 7)
a microphone has no external power and runs entirley from the voice coil inside(micro volts) and the mp3 playrt will put out volts.

Fender Stage 100 dsp, solid state amp volume (or power) problem

The Deluxe may have more efficient speakers....which would cause it to sound louder. Also, the EQ settings could play a part in this. If the EQ's aren't set the same there could be a noticeable difference in sound.....usually the mids can have quite an effect on overall amp volume....

Hi lumberman597

The cool thing about guitar amps is that you can mess with the knobs until you find the sound that you like. There is no particular way to use it, just try to find a tone that suits you. Start with gain controls down and tone knobs at 12o'clock. Turn up the gain(one at a time) to get distortion and more sustain to your sound. Turn the distortion up midrange down and treble up for metal sounds, more bass and midrange for bluesy sounds. just play around with it and you will see what I mean. Here is a guide from Fender on how to setup your guitar. If you are not sure, a good guitar tech can make any old axe feel and sound great with a good setup
unfortunately, Fender do not have an electronic copy of your owners manual to download, but you can buy one for $5 direct from them here It is only a 1 page manual.... so you will get more from just messing with it.

Musicians spend there whole lives tuning and tweaking knobs to get the sound they are looking for. It wont take you long to start doing the same.:)

Marshall valvestate 8040 - how to change the valve?

Hi chagzuki, you are right, but only when the valves are used as outputs, You amp has transistorised outputs, and a single tube used for distortion/gain. You will get a very long life out of this tube also because its supply voltage that is is used in the valvestate preamps is really quite low. Just enough for it to work really, so the tubes life can be expected to be much longer than normal. It is also a preamp tube, not an output tube, so they rarely need changing. If you ever did want to change it(dont bother), it is located on the PCB inside the unit. You have to slide the sleeve off to get at it. Get yourself a JCM800=the best guitar amp ever built(imho), then yo got pure Marshall tone, and output tubes that need changing every 6 months or so. Now go RIFF OUT and dont worry about your valvestates' "valve"

Graeme
