Question about Dell 1700n Laser Printer
Yesterday I switched on my dell 1700n after not being used for several months.
All the status lights (I mean every one) come on and stay on. They don't flash.
The printer won't do anything.
I assume it's a fatal logic board error, but can anyone clarify.
I'm was also having the paper jamming in a fan at the back "hatch". Can this be fixed also?
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Some questions first: -Where in the paper path is it jamming? -Is it always in the same spot or does it vary? -Roughly how many pages have you printed with this printer? -Did anything lead up to this or has it progressively gotten worse?

Remove the image drum and at the front of the printer you will see a rectangle flap that lifts up. Under the flap are three rollers. Clean them and it should take care of the problem. I use a product call Caikleen, it is a rubber cleaner and rejuvinator.

Had the same issue with the "Paper Jam" light blinking... but no paper jam. Turned the printer off then back on and the light went out.

Hi in this case the paper jam made some sensor through the paper road they are not in normal position or still tigger on by piece of something or error stander. you may try:
1) check paper input sensor near paper tray roller\
2) check margin sensor inside paper way before drum unit
3) check fuser sensor near fuser unit
4) check paper output sensor near output tray roller
sometime need sensor adjustment back to normal position
