Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
I've had my 60gig PS3 since it came out in November of 2006 and have had no problems with it. But just a few hours ago the XMB (systems main menu) now appears along the top of my tv rather then along the centre. which cuts off the menu as well as any content played on the system. Such as games, movies and pictures.
I do not know if its my tv or the system. I say this because I hooked the PS3 up via the supplied none HD cables (the problem I am having is with HDMI) the XMB shows up fine. I also checked my tv and it appears to be fine when tuned into tv channels. Could it be a bad HDMI connector on the PS3 or the tv? Possibly bad cables?
Thanks for any help.
It could be either a problem determining the aspect ratio change between HDMI and your DVI cable or a problem or the settings on your television (You may have the resolution setting too low for HD, does your TV support 720i, 720p, 1080i and 1080p?). If you post back with your model of TV I can help you figure out what's going on.
It's unlikely to be a hardware issue on either connector.
