IPod not getting switched on and not recongised by system

I have not been using my iPod (say for 1 - 2 months) and now I find it's not getting switched on and also not recongised by the system when connected thru a USB port. Please help. I remember the last time I tried to use my iPod to listen to songs, the battery level was very low. I tried charging it thru my system's USB only. Looks like my iPod's battery is drained. I tried connecting to USB for some 4 hours, but the same blank screen continues. Is there still a way to get this resolved?

This could be due to a broken usb cable.... if not that, give it a 24 hour charge!

Accidently pulled cord out will itunes was doing something, and i now have on my ipod screen itunes and and cord pointing to it, so i plug it in the computer and it isnt recongising it

if you have a power block, or a power adaptor that you can plug into the wall, do that if it dosn't fix it within the first 5 minutes, toggle the lock switch a couple of times, then hold the select button and the menu button at the same time. Or it might be the select and play/pause button, it varies with the model of ipod. Hope this helps!

Your battery is draining too fast . There is some problem with the internal battery .Since it is brand new I will prefer you to go to apple service center to get your itouch repaired . Some products will be having these kind of problem . Apple will replace it .
Hope this helps .

My lock symbol wont come off my ipod can you please help?

1. Try sliding the little switch on the top on and off several times. If that doesn't work the slide switch is broken. If it's under warranty (12 months), take it to your nearest Authorised Apple Service Centre and they will get it exchanged in a couple of days
No warranty? Google "iPod repairs" in your country and you should be able to find someone who can fix it. The usually have a self diagnosis on line so will get an idea of the cost before you begin

Ipod problem

joannfer, have you tried the 5-R's

i usually use this with some wierd issues on an OLD iPod, and it helps, although i experience another issue after a month of 2, but it helps.

service centers and other techs says its not practical to get it fixed since it is too old and may cost more when repaired. so try the 5-R's first, just a friendly thought.

Apple iPod touch Not able to Switch ON

Use the Ziphone ipod touch and iphone jailbreak GUI to put the ipod in recovery mode. Then restore it using iTunes.

You don't have to jail break it.

THat happened to me once when I installed something on my ipod.

it kept on restarting, and i used ziphone recovery and started over.

Make sure to get 1.1.4 firmware. its the most recent update on ipod touch.
