I changed the blade on my 10" Bosch miter saw this morning. First time and it was a bit challenging to release the screw when the blade was freely moving. Maybe there would have been a way to freeze it? Anyway, got it changed and the new blade is on. Plugged it in and now the blade is frozen. I tried starting twice and could hear the motor trying to respond. Then nothing. Is there a freeze/release mechanism somewhere or did I fry the motor?

See my other post. Also there is a locking mechanism to stop the blade rotation when removing it. It should be around the gearcase on the back side of the tool away from the blade.

My 10" Bosch miter saw

I would remove the blade and try the saw again, there is a possibility that you might have gotten a flange on incorrectly or left the spacer out.

Blade stops in middle of cut, slipping motor rpm is un changed. 10" compound sliding Bosch miter saw

Going on the information aas I read it, the blade is slipping, meaning that it is not tightened enough or a spacer in the hole in the blade is too thick. Make sure that the wall plug is pulled out before attempting any work on the blade.

What is the number and letter code description mean on bosch saw blades? for instance pro 1072 sm. what does the sm stand for

The Pro 1072SM is a 10" 72 tooth blade for a Mitre saw. So the sm means "saw miter" I don't know why they reverse the words.

Likewise a Pro 1040CHB would be a 10" blade 40 Teeth and used for chipboard, hense the "CHB" at the end.

How do i change the blade on my delta 10" mitre saw

Exploded diagram for your SM100M miter saw is here.
User manual is here.

Page 20 covers blade change operation.

Make sure you unplug your saw! You need to remove a screw from the cover and rotate the cover to the rear. Use a hex wrench in the motor shaft to keep the saw blade from turning, and loosen the arbor nut with a 1/2" wrench. The arbor is reverse threaded, so you'll turn it clockwise to loosen, then counterclockwise to tighten it up after you have swapped the blade.
Rotate the cover back after that's done, and replace the screw.

Changing the blade

there is a nut holding the blade in the center , it is left handle thread , there should be a locking mechanism to hold the blade while you unscrew the nut

How do I align the saw blade with the saw table I have a 10 inch Delta Contractor's saw that is about 10 years old. The blade is not straignt with the miter slot. [email protected]

The Blade Arbor is held to the bottom of the table with mounting screws and stop/adjusting screws. Loosen the mounting screw and adjust the stop screws to make Blade true with miter slot.

I purchased the Bosch saw blade on Ebay

If the arbors the same and you're running with in the RPM rating, it will be fine. But ALWAYS wear your safety glasses.

Change blade

OK first raise the cutting head. Loosen the screw that holds the guard in place and move out of the way. Find the spindle lock on the right hand side of the gearcase and turn blade by hand (UNPLUG SAW FIRST) until it locks. With the wrench supplied with saw put it on the blade bolt and turn it clockwise to loosen, it has left hand threads, remove outer flange and blade. Let me know it you need any more help
