Question about Casio Exilim Pro EX-P600 Digital Camera

1 Answer

LCD screen won't turn on and shutter won't open or expand.

Hi, I was using this camera on my laptop and since unattaching it, the screen stays black no matter what setting you use. It is like the shutter won't open and hence why the LCD screen won't come on. The only time I can get it to light up is if i hold menu down whilst turning it on (to view firmware) The camera hasn't been dropped or mistreated, it beeps twice when you turn it on and that's it. Please help!

It's probably in PC mode. It still thinks that it's connected to the computer via the USB. It should be somewhere in the set up configuration. If you can't get it to switch back to normal, disconnect it from all power sources(including internal memory button battery if present) in order to reset it. make sure you turn off the camera before disconnecting it from the USB. Good luck

My Nikon D3200 says shutter error can I fix this issue myself?

hi,
did you charge your battery full ? if the battery is not charged enough, it will not drive the shutter opener motor perfectly, and if any type of dirt or friction on the shutter drive gears this will happen, please check the shutter movement by removing the lens.

Hi my Canon Powershot SD 750 LCD screen stays black when taking pictures, you can't view them either. The only thing that shows up on the screen is the menu functions, you can look through everything...

First try pressing the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. If that doesn't help, astuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

Note that your camera will not be able to take 15 second exposures, as per the above "fix". Instead, place the camera in manual mode, turn off the flash, and take the exposures in a darkened room. This should give you a couple seconds, just enough time to open the battery door while the red and yellow lights are flashing.

This is usually caused by a defective shutter release switch - it'll have to go into a repair shop - independent shops will charge about $110 USD - Canon charges about $180

My lcd screen is black

hi there guys, if the screen is black and the camera takes black pictures, then you should look if you are getting a on screen display on camera mode. if you are then i would say one of two things, either the shutter is not opening or the ccd( electronic imaging device) is not functioning. to check the shutter you should look into the lenses centre part and check for movement from the shutter to see if it is opening.

The shutter in the lens is stuck closed. You need to take the camera to a shop where they will replace the lens assembly.
