Question about Dell Inspiron 1300 Notebook
My dell Inspiron 1300 cpu speed is only 180 - 190 mhz.
It is a Intel Centrino processor.
I thougnt is might be malware or something like that. I re-Formated the hard drive and reloaded windows xp but the problem still exists.
Check in the BIOS to see what processor is rated at (upon power-up of laptop hit F2 key to enter setup menu). Depending on what model Centrino you have, the speed rating should be at around 1.2 GHz or better. If speed checks out in the BIOS then run diagnostics on laptop to see if the motherbrd has a bottleneck issue. To do this, hold down the <FN> key and then push the power on button. Problem could be either your processor or motherbrd.
