Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook
Hi. A week ago, the sound on my laptop just died. I couldnt even change the volume, couldnt do anything. I rebooted the laptop and now I can change the volume (everything is correct, nothing on mute), and in Advanced Speaker Settings its set as Laptop Stereo Speakers, but there is still no sound. Ive tried a few different websites to see if perhaps if theres sound but to no avail. Ive connected a speaker that my wife uses, to the USB port and headphone pin - no sound comes out of there either. Whats happened :-(
Also i keep gettin a message from Dell now saying battery will soon need replacing, do you think this could be a factor for the sound not working or has the laptop just died?
Don't worry. It could be that the sound drivers are not instaled. Simply download the drivers from support.dell.com by entering the service tag. The sound should be back. The battery has nothing to do with sound. From the same website, install the BIOS update. That shoule get the battery message go away. Incase that does not happen, then you may have to buy a battery. The batteries have 1 year of warranty from the date of invoice.
I work in DELL, so please try what I ahve mentioned and you should be happy!!! If not, post a message.
