To solve this problem, I unplugged the power cord then use a knife to open the DVD door from the top down. On the left side under the DVD tray is a small white gear. Use a knife or small screw driver and turn the gear toward the right (counter clockwise). The tray will start to open. You should be able to pull the tray out and remove the disk.

Smoe DVD and CD players have a very small pin hole near the disc tray where you can push in a straightened paperclip or toothpick. This manually opens the tray a short distance to enable you to pull it out the rest of the way. This can be done while the power is off.

Failing this, if you are minimally technical minded, remove the cable plug form the powerpoint and remove the top cover of the player and wind the tray out using one of the small gear wheels.
You must remove the power cord to avoid electrocution.

Otherwise you take it to the nearest repairer. It is likely to happen again so it is probably worth your while to take to the repairer anyway.

You broke the ribbon connector that bounds your changer and tape deck to the sound processor (the black long ribbon that is permanently mounted to the tape deck) - the cheapest option is to get a new tape deck (around 20-£30 on ebay) or hount for replacement ribbon

I have a DVD that is stuck in my LG television.

Hi,Ok look at the DVD drawer carefully , you will see a tiny hole , this hole is expressly to eject the DVD when the electronic eject has failed . Take an ordinary paper clip and straighten it out . now insert the clip into the hole and press , this will release the drawer mechanism and with it your lost DVD Too easy !!!

Also
Removing the back cover would only allow you access to the frame and shields which must also be removed. Thereafter the DVD deck must be removed and repaired or replaced otherwise the TV will not be usable as it will still be locked in DVD mode. The system is waiting for a trigger pulse from the DVD deck that the disc has been released / ejected before it will accept any command to switch to other sources.

Unplug the unit for an extended period of time (an hour or so). The ides is to discharge and force the system to revert to factory defaults. Thereafter, try the above again. Should that still be not corrective, then perhaps your best bet would then be to consult with and/or seek the services of an authorized Service Center (specially if still under some form of extended warranty) or a qualified professional

if the DVD unit uses a slot type entry, have you tried using a credit card like something to 'fish' / 'jar' the erring disc while pressing on the EJECT button? Spraying with a can of compressed air through a nozzle like tubing may also be considered. The idea is to float the disc to initiate the eject procedures. A likely possibility is that the center hole of the disc is stuck to the spindle of the player.

Good luck and thank you

Disc say cant record, what disc do i buy

This model (PY90DG) DVD recorder supports the following disc recording formats: DVD+RW/DVD-RW/DVD+R/DVD-R for everyday video. These should record fine. The RW discs are for repeated recording/erasure while the R discs are once-only recording types - the R discs must be finalised in this deck to make them playable on other DVD players. DVD-RAM discs are NOT supported by this unit. This recorder will play MP3 files on a CD-R or CD-RW (not DVD-ROM) just fine as well, but will not record them.

Best discs to buy for this type of recorder are DVD-R (recommended brand - Verbatim or TDK if you can get them, but not Memorex). These are OK.

DVD recorder will not recognise discs to initialiaze them

The problem is most probably a bad DVD deck. They do go bad and LG has had prior problems with them dying. If it is under warranty contact LG service. If it is not you will have to buy a replacement deck. There are many companies selling the decks around $ 100 or more. Almost all DVD drives in LG units are interchangable. I bought a HDD/DVD unit on eBay and the drive was also bad. I found a company that has a warehouse full of LG drives for under $ 30 and they are guaranteed. Contact Sherry @ [email protected] and give her all the numbers from your DVD deck, they are on a small white tag on the top. When you remove the cover you will see how easy the drives are to change. Four screws and two cables to disconnect, thats it, very simple.

AUDIOVOX D1420 STUCK IN LOADING MODE

Sounds like you have a disc reading problem, in that it can read that there is a disc there, but can't actually read it. May need to have it serviced. If you can't get the disc out, sometimes turning the machine off at the wall, waiting a while, then turning it back on again will spit the disc drawer open. But beware that this may also cause the drawer to lock up. Again, it sounds like it may need to be serviced and have the DVD deck looked at.

Solution: In a fit of disgust, I threw the thing in the trash dumpster! So there! I'll just go buy another cheap one.
