Question about Televison & Video

HITACHI P50H401. Installed in Feb08 using non-HD satellite input with acceptable performance. In Aug08, we noticed abrupt deterioration of color performance in that greens and yellows are "blooming"/"bleeding" and generally showing up in areas where they don't belong. We have gone through full range of options in video menu with no affect. Is there an objective performance test we can use to fully define the problem? Is there a problem? We think so because we were happy before August.

Your plasma TV is fairly new, I would suggest to contact the manufacturers to fix it under warranty and since you have done video adjustments already and nothing has changed in the performance of it, there is not much you can do at this point.

I have a hitachi p50h401 tv. when using the hdmi input i do not get sound out of the rca audio outputs. how can i get sound out the rca outputs

Check the manual. I doubt that the rca audio is for output. More than likely it's the audio input when using composite video.

Can i connect a regular dvd player to a hitachi flatscreen hdtv?

Yes you can. Simply connect the appropriate color inputs.

If you use red green blue for video, and red white for audio you will get the best picture

If not stick to yellow for video and white red for audio

Just remember color that is on the back of dvd goes to same color on the input for the tv

My 53UDX10BA is HDTV-ready. Where can I get the

Your TV accepts HD inputs from HD cable boxes, video game systems, Bluray players etc. There is no adaptor needed just connect the HD device to the component inputs on the back of the TV which are GREEN/BLUE/RED in color. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks..

This has to do with the hd plug ins. We switched them around and matched colors; and that did the trick.

Philips LCD HDTV -- color problems

I am having the same issue. I believe the issue to be somewhere in the transition between HD channels and non HD channels. A work around is to switch the input to another input such as DVD and then switch back to your cable input (mine is the HDMI input). I'm probing the web looking for why this happens and if there IS a permanant fix.

Hitachi 50VS810

It could be that the "White Uniformity" needs to be adjusted which would probably require an authorized service technican to perform. Otherwise, the problem may lay within the light engine itself, also requiring a tech.
