Question about Dell 924 All-in-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Highlighting My printer is yellow highlighting all of my documents that I print and the ones that I copy. It looks like someone took a yellow highlighter to each page and used it to highlight everything. Any ideas? I looked at settings, have turned it off and on, and am out of ideas. Thank you.

If your printer is a USB printer then do the following:
First of all please remove the USB Cable from your PC completely.
Restart your PC without connecting USB cable back to your PC.
Now connect the USB Cable into the USB Jack from both ends and start your PC.
After doing above steps please reboot your PC finally and printer
Let me know the result, so I can further investigate the problem.

On the document that you are trying to print, go to the very last word, of the last page.. hold the shift key down & use your down arrow to highlight anything below, no matter how long it may be highlighting white space. Hit your back arrow once. Check the last word for punctuation & spelling, resale your document & try to print again.

A lot of times in the course of 'composing', extra carriage returns or tabs or spaces, are added to the bottom of the document. I have just explained how to clear the second page printing. It may also remove the erroneous codes that may have formed.

Rebooting a printer has the same good effect as rebooting your computing device. It clears up a lot of confusion that has stacked up since the last time you did it.

If you have printed labels with this same printer, you may have part of a label throwing off the paper path. Also make sure that the paper guides in your paper bin or manual feed area are close, but not touching or pinching the paper. This can cause paper to go off of its normal print path.

Good luck.
Toby.

Just before you click the button to print, Select the text you wish to print by highlighting with your mouse. Then when you click the print option you have the option to print selected item.

I am making a copy of an article on my computer.

If you are copying from an internet source, file copy the document to your computer. Next step is,
go to your document settings or adjust the font size by highlighting all the text in your document. set to desired font size you want most probably you need 16-18 in size. save it.

Random yellow highlighting

I don't think it would be a hardware problem. If anything, there's a setting on the program you're using doing it. If not that i'd check the printer manual and the buttons or setting of that.

Printing selected text only

Have you tried highlighting the text, copying it, pasting it into a notepad and printing it from there?

2 possible soultions,

1. The color required to print the text ( ie: black or a variation of ) may have run out and needs to be refilled or replaced.

2. The other way that could help, is to select only the text you wish to print, by highlighting the entire text of the email, and then press and hold Ctrl while you press P to bring up printing shortcut menu and then check the "Print selected only" before attempting to print.

This should give you only the selected text, but if your black or the color required to print is empty, it may appear blank on the page, or show a low ink error.

I would try changing the ink cartridges and if you don't have a new set at least take out the ones you have and reseat. Also check Epson's site for new drivers. Try printing from a different program.
