Question about KitchenAid Microwave Ovens

Over the Range Kitchen-Aide Microwave/Vent Stainless Steel

I have an Over the Range Kitchen-Aide Microwave/Vent in Stainless Steel that is right at 4 years old. The faceplate of the vent has broken off on the front of the microwave. This is located just above the microwave door and runs all the way across the top front of the unit. Therefore it is very unattactive looking and if I use the vent system while cooking on my stove top the air from the vent blows directly on top of my head! The part is very cheaply made and I am very dissapointed. My warranty said this is only cosmetic and they will charge me a lot of money to come out an look at it not to mention how much the part will cost. My husband can fix it if we can just get a new part to put up there. Can you tell me what the part number is so I can order one? If not, how can I find out? Where can I go??

You'll need to provide the specific model number in order to get the part you need but here is a link to a company that should be able to get you what you need..

Hope this helps..

Yes, an adapter/kit should have come with the unit and then you would have to buy the piping etc.If you do not have the adapter/kit get it from the manufacturer or unit seller.

Hot microwave door handle

I always recommend that you use the vent fan whenever you're cooking on the stove top to keep heat, steam, and grease out of the controls and door panels.

Go to Type: make and model of microwave, refine search to vent flap you might get lucky, if no luck, have a handyman come in and fashion a part.

Does outer cover of stainless steel microwave get hot usually

The top gets the hotest as the heat from the cavity must get out through vent holes in the cavity. The sides will get hot if not adequate air flow is available.
Hope this helps.

Amama 2.0 Cu ft. Radarange Microwave model# UXA3036BAB

This model does not list Stainless Steel as a feature. Stainless Steel is used in the interior (CAVITY) of a Microwave if it is a Combination Convection/Microwave Oven. The Convection Oven can reach temperatures of 400+ degreesF. This Temperature would MELT the paint off a painted interior.
Stainless Steel can be tested with a Magnet. It will not be attracted or "Stick" to Stainless.
Hope this answers your concerns!
