Hello, you a side load washing machine. The spinning wheel is a counter weight for the wash tub.
The tub out seal that fit around the tub is worn out. News a new seal. Unplug the washing machine and remove from cover with the door. Once you have the front panel with the door the tub seal is attached to the front by lock clips. Remove the clips or screws. Now, check the interior seal and make sure does have any hole in it. If there is holes then walter will leak on to the floor.

You might have to use a Laundry Mat for a few week while waiting for parts. GB...stewbison

My Frigidaire front load dryer is ruining my clothes. I can only guess loose straps, strings... get caught on lint trap on door and with the continually spinning o the drum, they eventually break. I...

If you take front of dryer off, there is a half moon shaped piece of felt on top of door opening that most likely has worn and leaves a gap between drum and where that felt is. Replace that for right drum fit.

Washer motor humms and won't spin after filing up with water

remove the water pump from the motor but not from the hoses and start the washer. if it starts then you have a sock or something caught inside the pump holding the motor. remove the object or replace the pump if needed. if the motor wont start then unplug the washer, remove the motor and turn by hand. if it feels hard replace motor. if it moves then leave motor out and move the gear case where the motor connects by hand. if it wont move then 2 things may happen. 1)gear case lockup or a piece of clothing caught between the tubs.

if the washer agitates but wont spin with the humming sound then I say the later. a piece of clothing caught between the tubs.

At least one piece of clothing per cycle gets caught in the gap between the spinning drum and the dryer housing. It leaves a burnt looking mark on that piece where it stuck.

Could be the drum seal has worn, or the drum bearings are worn, or the drum is off center.

Thanks.

Tub won't spin without help

Possibly a piece of clothing caught between tubs or at the top of the inner tub against the cover plate .

Clothes getting caught in dryer tub and appear to be burning.

-Base on what you said. There is nothing or sharp edge to hold the
cloth by the time the drum spin. Looks like when you close the door. The door snap or bite the cloth and hold it still (no moving)
and the drum keep spinning and rubbing it at the same spot. That's why it mark a burning line.
Same thing like you drive a motorcycle. You apply brake to the front wheel and let the back wheel spin. So it will make a burn line on the ground.

Good luck

Clothes getting caught on inside of dryer

There are a couple of guide wheels in the back of the dryer. when they get worn out the tub will have excessive play and will trap clothes inside. Just remove the front cover loosen the belt and remove the drum. the worn wheels will be easy to spot. It is an easy and cheap fix.
