I was watching the tv one day when it just shut off. Its only a couple of years old. The light on front of the set won't even come on,and the remote won't turn it on either. Its like it died, no power. Is there something I can do to check it?

Re: tv will not come on
Sounds like a short issue. More than likely a shorted horizontal output transistor. First all fuses need to be checked. If good, check the HOT. If the HOT is shorted and a common part you'll be ok. Apex does not support it's products. In most cases they are impossible to repair due to unavailability of parts. Anything beyond the HOT will probably not be obtainable. If you are going to look at this unit remember safety. Good luck.
Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

This is called the blinking green light of death-----only one of two things can cause this problem.
First: remove front speaker grill (IT PULLS OFF) AND remove inspection plate behind it; look for the two bundles of wires coming down and to the right from the front keyboard of the set.
Unplug both plugs you find (different and marked so you cannot mix them up-----the idea is to take the front keyboard out of circuit-----set will still function with remote as receiver is behind front screen)
Try (after 70 seconds) to turn on with remote
If it comes on---defective reset button on front keyboard----use set only with remote or remove and remove actual reset switch---it is located behind and part of frame for screen----entire front screen would have to be removed to get at it.
Second: if disconnection of the front keyboard does not help, the DM unit is bad.
As you look from back of set it is large metal box at extreme left side.
The blinking light is the unit trying to "Boot" up-----these have a problem where caps and a few other parts in that unit fail-----kits on the net are available----Mitsubishi no longer sells or services these units but PTS Electronics does repair them.
Let me know if you have questions and try disconnection of the front keyboard FIRST.
When it shuts off and the green power light goes off, press both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set (not the remote) and hold both for about five seconds and release.
Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks and then 3 blinks and repeat it several times.
Tv is on every day and watches 4 to 5 hours every day?Yes,3 years now the projection lamp require replacement again and the board that call the Ballast board might require replacement too, this Ballast board only job is it to ignite the projection lamp only..
The 2004 V Star is incompatible with Mitsubishi equipment. Mitsubishi makes some engines, but their engine building peak was back in the forties and they don't make any Yamaha engines.
A little more info is required bfore we can help much. If you attempt to turn on the set, the standby light should blink a repeated code. If you can post that count here, we can use that to tell you what circuit has the problem. If that light does not come on at all, that too is good info.
My watch had the same problem and i could never figure out what it was so i just lived with it for a couple of years. then, just recently even when my watch was getting plenty of sun the battery would die in the evening and shut off at night. so i replaced the battery and evrything works great. even the light which leads me to believe the solar panel is just a gimmick. i have an old g-shock watch that i bought in 1989 and it still works and is on the origional battery. my gw 300 is about 5 years old and needed a battery. i guess 5 years on a battery is prety good but i would rather have it last for 19 years like my old one.
