Incorrect Disk Format Error Message

I just bought a FPE1505 TV and when I put a DVD in with the label facing as instructed, I get an error message that says "Incorrect Disk Format". What the heck could be the problem? Thanks.

Re: Incorrect Disk Format Error Message

First of all, the DVD player is your input device, and that's where you should be posting. The TV is passive, it just displays an error message from the DVD, that can't read that specific Disk. Does it happen with every DVD, or with some? is there anything common with the DVDs that won't play? burnt? certain zone? A dirty lense can often cause problems like this. Opening the player and brushing dust off the lens is the only thing you can do yourself. Otherwise take it to the lab. Good luck

My dvd player keeps saying 'incorrect disk' why? and what can i do to stop it?

I don't understand your problem.
Is it the TV or is it the DVD? You say you tried other dvds and the problem is still there. Looks like the TV is the problem. Sometimes it's hard to help people when they only mention on screen issues. How can first DVD say 'incorrect disk' and then another dvd, and another still say 'incorrect disk'? It just doesn't seem to make sense. Is the contents on the disk a computer recorded movie, film or home movie? If so, you have to record the film on the disk with a format that accept the DVD. Could the DVD be a Blu-Ray, can it play a number of video formats, DVD, DivX, KviD DVD, etc.? Try first with a purchased movie DVD disc, if it doesn't work, then the DVD is faulty. DVD players these days are meant to play a wide range of video format, including CD discs. If you have an old DVD player, you may not play latest discs. But if the DVD is incorporated with the TV, then you have to insert a new movie and see if it plays. Go to an appliance or TV DVD store and talk to them. Or you can purchase a new movie and insert it in. If it doesn't work, you can always return it. As you said, you've tried different DVDs, sounds like it is a separate DVD player. If so, try other movie discs. I get the same warning only when I insert discs with movies I recorded on my computer, such as Pinnacle video editor.

DVD doesn't work accepts dvd then says loading...

Hey scowtz, if your dvd is a burned copy or has other file formats that are not the most common, or I should say, basic types then it most likely will not play it. TV/DVD Combo's are made with the most basic formats. If you want to play burned copies I suggest get a dvd player and look for the formats that it plays. Usually the format label is printed on the front of the dvd player. However, if your dvd is an original that you bought from a store and it still does not play it, then its an OEM issue. Meaning you need to return it / send it for warranty / or get a replacement. I hate to say it but these dvd players built in to the tv are not the greatest and very basic so the manufactures do not put much effort in building a good quality ones. (This is only an opinion but I use to work at a home theatre dept. at a major electronic store that I probably should not disclose and these issues were common). Get the stand alone dvd players, some are quite cheap and play wide variety of formats and are actually pretty solid players. I hope this helps. Give me a feedback if this does not help. Good luck.

I bought my mum an LG DVD player and some of the DVD's I bought for christmas will not play. I get the message "check regional code" but do not have a password or code to enter. Helena

It sounds like you are trying to play a DVD with a different region code than the player is designed to play. See label on rear/back of player and compare it with the DVD disk paperwork.

Westinghouse tv with DVD- production run in error message that won't go away while playing DVDs

Call Westinghouse at 800 701-0680, give them your tv data and ask for a recovery disk to be mailed out to you. Not a firmware update, but a 'recovery disk'. This worked for me perfectly, problem fixed in two minutes.

The dvd player takes the dvd but says

If it does it with a shop bought dvd then there is a strong chance that there is a fault on the unit.

If however you are using home made dvd's cd's'then that is a different situation and you should double check your source burning capabilities.

The HDMI cable was causing "Display connected non-HDCP compliant" error message to appear.
When I reconnected my DVD to TV using regular cable with 3 color connectors(i don't know what is the proper name for that cable) that error message no longer appears on my screen and I was able to watch my movie normally.

Proscan lcd accepts disc but then gives the messages loading and than no disc

This TV/DVD has a strange design, the label on the DVD should be facing away from you. The Mirror side of the DVD should be facing you.

Ran into the same problem with this DVD player and my LG tv. Try this:
Open the DVD tray, with the DVD tray open press the HDMI select button until the proper resolution for your tv is illuminated, put the DVD back in, close the tray and try again. Simple fix -- worked beautifully for me.

Good luck
