Question about Samsung Audio Players & Recorders
Mp3 players may freeze at
one time or another, but some players seem to freeze over and over again. Trying to do too much at one time may tax an
mp3 player’s resources, and will cause the occasional freeze. In these cases, simply resetting your mp3
player will resolve the issue. Too many
people online seem to think that it is a good idea to leave the mp3 player
running until the battery runs out – this is a common misperception and a bad
idea. In reality, the user’s manual for
your mp3 player (available most of the time from the manufacturer’s website)
will tell you how to reset your player. But,
if you have to reset your player every single time you use it, then you are
experiencing a definite problem. If resetting
fails to resolve the issue, it is time to check the company’s website for a
firmware upgrade. WARNING: Firmware
upgrades will erase all of the songs off your player – back up all files first
by transferring them to your PC Philips’ Go Gear mp3 players, in particular,
have software designed to prevent the “freezing issue.” Freezing can be caused by hardware failure, a
bad interaction between you mp3 player software and your PC software (usually
resolved by a firmware update), or transferring songs to your player from free
music sharing services that contain unacceptable code (Limewire users: check
the “comments” section of the ID3 tag of any downloaded song before
transferring to your mp3 player – delete all of this code. Most of the time it is just a name, but
sometimes it is a string of hexadecimal numbers that “confuse” the mp3 player).
In general, if it is a software issue, you can fix it. If it is a hardware issue, you cannot.
