The motor control board doesn't have the same wiring connections as the washer wiring harness. I have purchased the part but can't connect to my washer. Maytag says that it is the correct motor control board.

F06 error code

F6 error indicate a Motor Speed error code. It is likely attributed to either a broken or slipped drive belt, defective Drive Motor, defective Motor Control Unit (MCU), or the interconnecting wiring between the two.

Could be a loose connection in the harnesses, dad Motor, bad motor control board, bad main control board. It's most likely a bad motor control board.

Here is the one parts for your model:
- Electronic control assembly
- Motor Control Unit
- Drive Motor

What is err 70?

F70 and F71 are two logic board error codes that point at a communication error between the main logic module and the control pad (user interface and CCU), and between the motor control unit and central control (MCU, andd CCU that is main control module).

Repair is difficult, as motor, wiring and voltages from control modules must be tested. Try first doing a reset, by disconnecting power cord or tripping circuit breaker and leaving power off for five minutes.

If that does not help and errors come back, then the best thing to do is calling the service number listed on the user manual.

Here extensive explanation of error codes and relative troubleshooting:
F70: CENTRAL CONTROL UNIT HEARTBEAT FAILURE
If a Central Control Unit Heartbeat Failure is displayed, no communication is detected from the Central Control Unit to the User Interface.

1. Check for continuity of the User Interface harness.
2. Check wire harness connections to the User Interface and the Central Control Unit.
3. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating.
4. Replace Central Control Unit if drum is not moving

Hope this helps.

Wont do anything but give f-11 code and to get someone to look at it is disasterous

F-11 is a communication error between the motor control board, and the central control board (User Interface).
Check the wire harness connection between the motor control board, motor, and central control board.
Take the top of the machine off to check harness connection to the control board. ( Should be 3 screws in the back of the machine holding the top on).
Take off the bottom panel. should be 4 screws at the bottom front of the washer. may have to tilt the machine backwards to get to screws and take front panel off. Check harness connection to the motor control board and to the motor. make sure there are no broken wires and that all harnesses are plugged in securely.

I have an F11 code

Washer will suddenly stop with 1 minute left on cycle and shows the F11 error code...at times it may show the FdL code. The washer will then not finish no matter what I do. If I unplug the unit from the outlet that does not guarantee that when I plug it back in it will start up. Fifty percent of the time it still shows the F11 error. It can take hours to finally get the washer to cancel out so I can take the laundry out that has not been spun out.

The F11 error code indicates a serial communication problem between the central control board and the motor control board. This can be caused by:

  • A loose or failed wire harness connection between the central control board and the motor control board.
  • A bad wire harness connection between the motor control board and the drive motor.
  • A failed drive motor.
  • A defective motor control board.
  • A failure in the central control board.

The diagnosis of this failure usually requires a technician. If you are able to unplug the washer and safely access the central control board and motor control board, you can check for a loose wire harness connection.

F32

The F32 error code indicates a water level pressure switch failure. This is normally caused by wiring connection problem or a failed pressure switch. If you are able to unplug the washer and remove the top panel, you can check the wiring connections between the control board and the water level pressure switch. To remove the top panel (with the washer unplugged), take out the screws at the very back of the top panel and slide the panel back and then pick it up and remove it from the top of the washer. The pressure switch is on the top of the right side panel toward the back of the washer.

If the wire harness connection between the pressure switch and the control board is okay, then you will probably need to replace the pressure switch to correct this problem. The part number for the pressure switch is 8181695. You can order this part from the Sears PartsDirect website www.searspartsdirect.com .

The F28 error code indicates a communication error between the main control board and the motor control board at the bottom of the washer by the drive motor. A loose wiring harness connection can cause this problem. It can also be caused by a failed motor control board, a bad drive motor or a defective main control board. You may be able to check the wiring harness connection to the motor control board by unplugging the washer and removing the bottom from service panel. To remove this panel (with the washer unplugged), take out the screws at the very bottom of the panel and then pull the panel down and out to remove it. Access to the motor control board may be limited. You may be able to check to make sure that wiring connections are firmly secured on the motor control board. If the connections are okay and you continue to get the F28 error code, you may need to replace the motor control board.
