Question about Intertherm Heating & Cooling
My inside air conditioning unit for central heating and air is leaking very badly (puddles are all in my floor constantly around the unit and it is ruining my floors!) There is also mold all on the unit and ice is on the top pipes. What can I do or how much would it cost to get it fixed? thanks!
Soundls like the condensate drain is clogged and coil is dirty. look for a plastic pipe inlet where water would flow to.. you may be able to clear it by blowing it out with compressed air. you can also pour bleach into it to address the mold problem. if the coil is icing up it is because it is dirty. to verify this, let the unit run in ac mode for about an hour and check to see if you have air flow from the vents. if you do not, then the cooling coil is covered in ice, thus blocking air flow. you should have a qualified ac person clean the coil and check the refrigerant charge on the unit. one thing to consider, change your ac filter often, at least once a month in hot weather.
