I have a JBL 125SAT system and three of the five speakers have little to no volume. I know the wiring is good but how do I fix the speakers?

damaged yes... fix yes,, well hopefully,, ok frstly it seems you blew an output IC or a filter.. now i dont have a diagram and basically one isnt needed,, you will need some screw drivers, a soldering iron and some solder..and a multimeter if you have one..

  1. open up the unt (unplug it first)
  2. look at where the speaker's connect you will notice it leads to 4 - 8 huge IC's on heat sinks.. close to the heat sinks are a few capacitors (filters) look at them and pray you find one with an oily surface.. If so remove it by soldering it, take it to the shop and get a new one to solder in place.. and then test the system to make sure it works..
  3. IF not a filter then plug in and turn on the unit.. touch every one of the 4 -8 ic's to see which get HOT!!!!!! very hot,, that one is blown (actually will be more than one) again unsolder them,, get replacements and reassemble..
  4. turn on and enjoy!!..

SOURCE: No sound in 2 of my 5 JBL sat125a speakers

check your speakers on another source to cancell out if it,s truly the speakers , if not then you could be in stereo mode which would explain the three front speakers ,mains and center working! other then that unplug and reset ,and if not that then their is an internal amp issue with your system , hopefully you can get it working ,if not check your warranty and see if the manufacturer will repair or replace for you , hope i was able to help you ,please leave a nice rating if i was of help thank you Sincerely glenn mayer

SOURCE: auto speaker wire diagram

FYI - I just took our 2004 Sequoia in because of speaker rattle coming from the front door speakers. Before I could tell them the problem, they guessed what it was. They see loads of Sequoias and Tundras with JBL systems due to the front door 8in speaker, basically, coming apart. His suggestion was to replace only the bottom 8in speaker, because the top tweeters usually are in good working condition. There is a minimal failure rate on the tweeters.

MY JBL Platinum Series speakers work on one side

the first thing to establish whether its the speakers would be to try them on a different computer. If there is some sound, that means its getting some feedback. Maybe you could go to sound manager in your control panel, or on the volume menu that you can access by clicking the volume icon on your desktop taskbar, you know, by the time and stuff. Once there, adjust the balance by moving the slider all the way to either side to see if its unbalanced. You might also wanna adjust the sound scheme from mono to stereo or dolby digital which would be in the same menu/ window. Does the right speaker thats plugged into the tower have a balance (R)ight and (L)eft? you might also want to adjust that to either side. If that is not helping, maybe there is a hardware issue with the left speaker, maybe a short, or a problem with the wire and you might have to replace that speaker if you do not know how to fix speakers. Tell me how everything works out.

I-pod connector came off

this connector is available complete with pcb from jbl service center. But radial is very difficult to open. You need to open the mesh with a hair dryer, because it is heavely glued with hot glue on the borders.you will find screws inside. And also from the bottom & sides you have to remove this decorative strip.
it is very time consuming & headache.
i have myself replaced five of this docking sockets,it will take minimum of two to three hours to do this
