G'day mate

To all accounts it does, this can be checked by verifying that it has TWO antenna inputs. To get the PIP working, you will need to split and feed both antenna inputs. Seems to be set up this way to cater to PIP with set top boxes/convertors that have RF outputs

the 2 tuners can be spotted as the shielded assemblies with covers either side in the lower right corner of this pic. There is a mod floating around that involves bypassing the PIP to fix a fault that the set develops. This may have been done to your already.

check here for details.

Hope this helps you. A fixya rating is a great thankyou for my efforts to assist you . Cheers

This is a case of bad capacitors in the PIP (picture in picture) module. If you have any electronics repair experience, you should be able to do the repair yourself. Here is some more detailed instructions:

You need a new PIP module. Surface mount capacitors have leaked out electrolyte and damaged the PIP PCB.

Mitsubishi vs-45605 with wavy lines

The first things to check are the filter caps in the main power supply area. Usually this rolling is caused by 60 cycle hum coming from the wall. Try that first and update this with your results. Also, while you are in there, resolder any joints that appear grainy or have rings.

Mistubishi vs-45605 pip module

The PIP board is small and square and stands straight up on the main board. It plugs into a socket. It also has a ground wire that has to be unsoldered to remove it from the machine. It is located essentially in the middle of the main board near the rear of the set. Sorry I can't describe it any better. Go to http:\\www.tritronicsinc.com or call 1-800-638-3328 for parts. Thank you!!

Thanks for the FixYa, I see now what your dilemma is. There is another ebay auction up that also claims there are 5 different PIP boards to mod out. check here

He may be the better bet to go with, and promises to email the mods to you and where to find the board. If they all look different, may be the problem you are facing. .The mod itself is just pulling the PIP PCB, and then jumpering the in/outs for video with a couple of capacitors. Its possible that some versions of the set don't have the PIP PCB, but unlikely . Do you have any pcbs that look remotely similar... the pcb may be different, but will have similer connectivity and function.

Veertical lines

Put a fan in it. Something is overheating in the unit and by placing a small fan in the back, inside the back cover, the lines disappear. Hope it works for you, it did for me.

This symptom is typical of the infamous PIP module with the leaky
electrolytics. If the corrosion has not become so bad that the board is
unrepairable, you can change all of the surface mount caps and clean up the corrosion

PIP function

The Main Picture will eventually go out or at least become distorted. Generally the PIP circuit can be repaired by replacing a couple of capacitors. Probably a job for a Pro but it will need to be done at some point.

Picture has horiz. lines

There is no vertical hold in the tv circuits now adays. You may find a vertical center or a vertical height. Your problem sounds like (if it has PIP Thats Picture in Picture) its in the PIP module and its a small module that stands up and most models of Mistubishi this module is no longer availabvle. The problem with the module is the small pana caps are leaking and ruins the PC traces. I have heard that theres a kit available on E-Bay to jump out this module. Now if its not the PIP model then it could be a few capacitors in the vertical sweep circuit. Also the B+ feed off the Flyback that supplies voltage to the vertical output IC could have a bad or leaky capacitor in the circuit. If your not a tech or solid state troubleshooter theres not much you can do and SHOULD take this set in to a repair center. Good Luck

I have horizontal white lines across the display of my LCD Tv, I've included more info in the details section below I have an Insignia model# NS-46L780A12 LCD TV MFG date July, 2011 , recently the display has been acting very strangely because the issue comes and goes consistently dependent to whether or not there's caption writing on the screen - examples being programming information , channel , time etc.....these info blocks are each in their own particular areas on the display , where this gets odd is when your watching live TV ,these info blocks are always filled in with whichever program that's on, the best description of this issue is from these individual blocks of written captions on the screen example - from the top , there will be a continuous vertical row of horizontal lines starting directly underneath said caption all the way to the bottom , this will happen consistently wherever there happens to be writing on the screens display, so you get multiple rows of these horizontal lines from top to bottom of the display and they'll stay there for the entire time you watch your show , some shows have more ,some less ,depending on the writing for that show , this is all on cable TV / live TV I guess you can call it , and when I use my Fire TV stick with certain apps , I'll get no vertical rows horizontal white lines on the display with the exception that I push the mute button or change the level of the volume and the lines start to want to show up and do partially just for a little while ,but almost as soon as the info on the screen disappears as far as mute/ no mute or the volume level , the vertical rows of horizontal lines go away , I should also say that in either case Fire TV stick or cable , these vertical rows of horizontal lines take a little time to develope all the way from where the caption lettering begin and same process for when they go away , it's not instant in either case , it can take up a couple of minutes for either process to happen , one other oddity I guess you could say , in watching a cable tv program where you may get let's say 5 vertical rows of horizontal lines top to bottom at the beginning of the process , if you happen to try to watch that show ,those individual vertical rows of horizontal lines of varying widths will eventually connect with each other horizontally across the display
