the noise on my tv is a high pitched noise that goes off in about 5-10 minutes. Do you think its the power supply or the caps?

I have a similar problem. I to get the high pitched noise out of the speakers. The only thing is it's when I am using my Xbox (when I had it) or my PS3. I am using an HDMI cable for both my TV and PS3. How do I fix this and does anyone else have this problem as well?

SOURCE: 37"polaroid FLM-373B

Hey guys, I read the solution about replacing the 10v 1000muf caps in the power supply module. I was ready to throw the set out. I tore apart an old old old Jerrold 700 converter and found a couple of caps that were 1000muf. One was 26v and the other was 52v. Anyway, the set works great now and I now have a 37" LCD in my shop to watch the Leafs!!!!
Thanks for the advice.

had the same situation as others, powered on blue light but nothing else, then unplug multiple times to get a picture. Finally nothing would work. Replaced the capacitors as was suggested and everything is fine. Installed Radio Shack #272-1032 1000mf 35v in place of the original 10v

SOURCE: If anyone is in need of Polaroid lcd tv parts contact me

usually capacitors are the problem on the TDA03211c power supply. 450v (volts) @ 10uf. change both. beside inverter filters.

Polaroid flm-373b lcd tv - making a loud buzzing noise. Picture is fine.

Possible that the main power supply unit which is the SMPS- switch mode power supply- has a faulty capacitor or in the INVERTOR board which has changed the value and so the frequency being changed can cause higher huming level- reduced to lower frequency.
so check the board for leaks , if so replace. Also check if the threshold voltages are below level in these circuits. if so the capacitor can be identified. If there is change after the component heats then simulate the circuit board and confirm using a hair dryer.

Tv makes a loud buzzing sound

This sound could be a component on the circuit board coming loose and vibrating. Usually, this is an electrolytic capacitor. It could be some dust or foreign object has gotten close to the power supply and is causing a slight current leakage. You should have it checked out. If you get in there yourself, make sure you unplug the unit first. On the older tube tv's this sound would have been high voltage leaking from the anode wire.

I have a Polaroid FLM-373B flat panel HDTV that buzzes when it is turned on. You still get sound from the selected channel but there is a background buzz even when muted and in all connections. Especially...

You have a faulty power supply. Check that the power supply capacitors are not bulging at their tops, or a brown liquid hasnt leaked out the tops of any of them either. If so, replace the faulty capacitors..Second option is to buy a power supply online

It is better you return it is still under manufacturers warranty. Anything you may do to the HDTV may void it's warranty. I work at an authorized service center and have seen too many times when people think they can fix something themselves and end up with a voided warranty. You really should take it in or have a authorized service center come to your home and check it out for you. In home service is offered by manufacturers and is normally covered by the warranty.

Anything you may be able to do to get it working this time will most likely happen again since it has happened before. Getting it serviced by an authorized service center may fix the problem permanently.

This may not be the answer you are looking for, but it is the smartest thing you can do. A little hassle now getting it fixed properly will probably save you money and more of a hassle in the future.

Hope this may help;

Polaroid FLM-323B HDTV Loud Buzzing

If your happy to remove the back casing of the the TV set.

Lay set face down on table with several towells laid out flat under it.
Undo all screws holding back on & lift it off you may need to remove tv stand to remove back.

Once back is off either locate speakers & unplug the leads from them remember to insulate the loose wires & tie them up out of the way.

Or trace wires from speakers to there plugs & sockets on main Pcb & unplug them & thats it.
Screw rear of set back on & ensure volume is set low or at zero.
