Question about Fuji FinePix F30 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Windows 2000 and f30 connectivity

I use my f30 religiously, and recently my old computer with XP installed stopped working, so I resorted back to my old laptop with Win2000. I have no idea how to get it to work on here. I tried to install the drivers, and everything, but when I plug it in, it just doesn't read it or something. my camera says it's plugged in, but my computer I guess doesn't acknowledge it for some reason. HELP!

I have to buy one? There's really no other way?
The On Port setting is set it \\.\usbscan0. Is there any way I can access this, or would setting it to Auto help? The troubleshooter told me that if it's set to auto, it would be correct, although I can't find a way to do this. It shows up in the scanner and camera thing, but it says it is offline.

mmmmm....... I'm not that familiar with your type of camera.... with Windows 2000 you may have to download and install some drivers, when you first plugged the camera in did it come up on the computer as though it found new hardware??? Did it install the hardware correctly? otherwise you may have to install better drivers..

Did you want to know how to put the camera on Auto??

I think that a card reader would still be the best option... they are quite cheap.... athough you may still have to install drivers for it if you are using Win2000

Good morning, I have a windows 98 os, mouse (m-rn67) stopped working. no luck using newer mice, doesn't recognize. can i update computer using usb w/driver for newer mouse?

Hi janettgordon,
I am not exactly sure what you mean by "can i update computer using usb w/driver for newer mouse", but if you want to know if you can update the USB component of Windows 98 I regret to say to you that it's not possible.
USB support on Windows 98 always been tricky and Microsoft never officially supported it before Windows 98 SE. I don't know what version you have, but either way USB support under Windows 98 never been great. You also need to keep in mind that Windows 98 is quite an old system and no recent hardware like mouse, keyboard, printers is supported on it anymore.
My advise would be to upgrade your current Windows installation to Windows XP or Windows 2000. A friend can probably lend you a copy and I'm 100% positive that it will solve your problem with newer mices. You will need to make sure your computer can handle Windows XP or 2000, but they can run under pretty old hardware so it should not be a problem.
Cheers!

I NEED A WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION CD, BURNED MY OLD ONE OUT, HAD IT SINCE 2003 DAN

You can't download it. It is proprietary software from Microsoft and they guard it religiously. Borrow a CD from a friend who has the *exact* same edition you have and make a copy. Then if you need to re-install, the Certificate Of Authenticity Key number (COA) on the sticker on your computer should let you install. For desk top computers it is usually stuck to the side or back of the case. On laptops, it is on the bottom. That COA number is your proof that you paid for the operating system when you bought the machine. Even if you bought it used.

I have logitech x 230 speakers. When i use my old computer i just plug them in and they work. i installed an additional OS to my old computer; windows xp professional. The speakers were not even recog

You may need to install the audio drivers for those systems. If the sound is built onto the mainboard, you'll need the motherboard model number to help locate the drivers online. You can look for them yourself through a search engine, or if you'd like, get back to me with the model numbers of the motherboards, and I will locate your drivers. The model number of the motherboard should be printed directly on the motherboard itself.

WANT TO DISCARD OLD INSTALLATION DISKS

Simple, It wouldn't keep any old Windows 95, 98, ME or NT installation floppy disk unless you need them for old device drivers that you still use. I would still keep Windows 2000 or XP installation CD thats for sure.

With this, you can..
