Question about Fuji FinePix F30 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Windows 2000 and f30 connectivity

I use my f30 religiously, and recently my old computer with XP installed stopped working, so I resorted back to my old laptop with Win2000. I have no idea how to get it to work on here. I tried to install the drivers, and everything, but when I plug it in, it just doesn't read it or something. my camera says it's plugged in, but my computer I guess doesn't acknowledge it for some reason. HELP!

I have to buy one? There's really no other way?
The On Port setting is set it \\.\usbscan0. Is there any way I can access this, or would setting it to Auto help? The troubleshooter told me that if it's set to auto, it would be correct, although I can't find a way to do this. It shows up in the scanner and camera thing, but it says it is offline.

mmmmm....... I'm not that familiar with your type of camera.... with Windows 2000 you may have to download and install some drivers, when you first plugged the camera in did it come up on the computer as though it found new hardware??? Did it install the hardware correctly? otherwise you may have to install better drivers..

Did you want to know how to put the camera on Auto??

I think that a card reader would still be the best option... they are quite cheap.... athough you may still have to install drivers for it if you are using Win2000

Why my samsung wb 700 camera not connect with the windows 7 pc.but xp lap identifies the camera. system requirments for camera are windows 2000/xp/vista. Is this the problem or should i install suitab

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa.

Installation conflict with Windows Logo Testing

IF YOU HAVE INSTALLED THIS SOFTWARE ON A COMPUTER RUNNING XP AND IT WORKED WELL AND YOU FEEL CONFIDENT WITH THE SOFTWARE, I WOULD NOT WORRY ABOUT THIS SCARE TACTIC YOU ARE GETTING ON THIS NEW COMPUTER. IS THIS NEW COMPUTER RUNNING XP,SP2 AND THE OTHER ONE RUNNING JUST XP OR XP,SP1? THIS MIGHT BE WHY YOU ARE GETTING THIS SCARE SCREEN. IF THIS SOFTWARE HAS BEEN WORKING ON A MACHINE WITH XP, IT WILL CONTINUE TO WORK ON XP.THE LOGO TESTING AND VALIDATION PROGRAM WERE MADE TO STOP PIRATE SOFTWARE. IT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE THIS IS THE CASE HERE. SOME OF THIS LOGO TESTING HAD A LOT TO DO WITH GETTING UPDATED SOFTWARE TO WORK WITH NEWER VERSIONS OF XP AND VISTA. LIKE I SAID IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH YOUR PROGRAM I WOULD NOT FEAR THE WARNING AND INSTALL YOUR PROGRAM AND WHEN YOU DO, JUST CHECK FOR ANY UPDATES TO YOUR SOFTWARE.

Transferring Pictures.

If you have installed software from the supplied disc, remove it. Very often this software more of a hindrance than any use. Windows 2000 should recognise the camera when plugged in via the USB as a 'new' drive in my computer

Downloading Problem

I have always advised folk to leave the software disk in the box when connecting cameras and the like to a NTFS system. Plug it into USB port and Windoze will find it. Should be the same with Vista I guess Leave the disk in the box- or of you have installed stuff uninstall it. And let Windoze do the work.

Cannot transfer video clip from Fujipix A340 digital camera to pc

Movies shot on FUJI's digital cameras are recorded in Motion JPEG format and can be played back using QuickTime version 3.0 or later. (You can download QuickTime from the Apple Computer site). To play back movies in Windows Media Player, download and install DirectX 8.0 or later from the DirectX website. Let us know if it fix your problem,or you need for more help. Good luck !!

My Fujifilm digital camera is connected to my computer, but the removable disk does not appear when I open "My Computer" in Windows. I have a FinePix camera and have installed the software.

If the removable disk does not appear when you open "My Computer" in Windows, it is possible that the USB drivers are not installed correctly. Update to the latest version of FinePix Viewer (including the USB drivers). To update FinePix Viewer, you must have the software from the CD-ROM bundled with the product (Utilities for FinePix) already installed. As an alternative method to updating the software, you can also reinstall the USB drivers. The USB drivers can be reinstalled by installing the software from the CD-ROM again. If the removable disk is still not displayed after the above measures have been taken, check the following: Windows system checks 1. You should be using Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. 2. The Windows XP USB drivers are supported as standard system drivers but are only compatible with Software for FinePix versions 2.0 or later. If you are using an earlier version of the CD-ROM, an update to FinePix Viewer is required. 3. The software cannot be installed properly from "Scanners and Cameras" in the Control Panel. Digital camera checks 1. Check that the digital camera can play back images on its LCD monitor. 2. On digital cameras with the PC Camera function, select "DSC" as the USB setting. (Refer to the Owner's Manual for your camera for information on specifying the camera settings.)
