My key less entry is not locking/unlocking my car doors. I discover the problem this morning when I tried to open my car. I had to put the key in the lock and open it that way. It also doesn't making the beeping noise either when I press the key less entry. When I use the inside lock/unlock it only works for my passenger side door. It won't lock my driver side door. I physically have to close my door and put my key in the key hole and turn to lock. Help?
I don't think it's my remote battery. I think it might be the actuator, from what I've been reading. The automatic lock inside the bar isn't locking my driver side door either, only my passenger side door.I don't think it's my remote battery. Try this please!
'98 - '02 Isuzu Rodeo and Trooper and Honda Passport(with factory keyless entry) Instructions for programming.
1. Get in car and make sure all doors are unlocked.
2. Open driver's door and leave open.
3. Put key in ignition.
4. Turn key to 'on position' (dash lights on, but do not start) and back to 'off position' 3 times in 5 seconds or less. (you must turn the key very fast)
5. Close and open driver's door 2 times in 5 seconds or less.
6. Turn key to 'on position' and back to 'off position' 5 times in 5 seconds or less. (turn key very fast)
7. Close and open driver's door the doors should lock and unlock twice after this happens push the lock or unlock button on the remote, doors will lock and unlock. Push the lock or unlock button a second time and doors will lock and unlock again. You are finished! The above sequence erases all previous codes and adds the new code as #1. If you are adding a second remote, you should follow the same sequence with the exception of step 6; instead of turning the key to the 'on position' and back to the 'off position' 5 times in 5 seconds or less, do it 3 times in 5 seconds or less and then continue to step 7. ***Remember to turn the key to the on and off position very fast.
This works! Follow directions EXACTLY. I had to try 3-4 times before getting it to work. I failed to go exactly by the instructions the first few times.
You will need to try reprogramming the remote 1st, below is the complete procedure. If the reprogram doesn't restore function then you will need the dealer to test the keyless entry system, you may have a bad module or remote (only applies if both remotes don't work).
Start with the key out of the ignition, drivers door is open all others closed and drivers door is unlocked. 2. Perform these steps within 5 seconds. A. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out. B. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out. 3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds. A. Close then open the drivers door. B. Close then open the drivers door. C. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out. 4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds. A. Close then open the drivers door. B. Close then open the drivers door. C. Close the drivers door D. Insert the key into ignition and leave it in ignition. E. Turn the ignition to ON (Do NOT Start) then back to OFF. F. Remove the key from the ignition. 5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should lock then unlock automatically indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point. 6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds. A. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1.5 seconds. B. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons, Press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should lock and then unlock once indicating successful programming. If the door locks cycle twice, repeat steps A and B in step 6 as the remote was not accepted. C. Repeat steps A and B in step 6 for each new remote. 7. Open drivers door.
Sit in the driver's seat
Close all vehicle doors; ignition key should NOT be in the ignition, and ignition should be OFF.
Press and hold UNLOCK on your driver's door lock switch, insert and remove your ignition key TWICE, and insert the key in the ignition; this time LEAVE IT. DO NOT TURN THE KEY!!
LET GO OF THE DOOR SWITCH; listen for 3 dings after which, with the key still in the ignition, you will press and hold both LOCK and UNLOCK AT THE SAME TIME on your transmitter for 12 seconds. or until you hear 2 DINGS which indicate a newly programmed transmitter.
If you wish to use more the one transmitter (4 MAX), press and hold lock and unlock just as the first transmitter.
PULLING OUT THE IGNITION KEY ends this procedure :-) !
Program your factory keyless entry functions For 2001+ Tacomas equipped with a factory alarm or keyless entry, here are some programming options that allow you to adjust the way your locks work. The first programming option allows you to set the entry unlock to: (A) unlock the driver door with one push, and the remaining doors with a second push OR (B) unlock all of the doors with a single push.
Open the driver's door. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
(Complete these steps within 40 seconds)
Insert the key into and remove it from the ignition switch 2 times. (IN - OUT - IN - OUT)
Close, then open the driver's door 2 times. (SHUT - OPEN - SHUT - OPEN)
Insert the key into and remove it from the ignition switch 1 time. (IN - OUT)
Close, then open the driver's door 2 times. (SHUT - OPEN - SHUT - OPEN)
Insert the key into the ignition switch and leave it in.
Close the driver's door.
Turn the key from LOCK to ON 4 times, ending at LOCK (LOCK - ON - LOCK - ON - LOCK - ON - LOCK - ON - LOCK)
Wait for the locks to stop, then remove the key from the ignition switch.
On the key fob, press and release both LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time.
[For all doors unlock] press and release the UNLOCK button.
[For driver door unlock] press and release the LOCK button.
Open the driver's door. The programming is complete. If programming did not occur, start over.
Lock all the doors from the inside (with all the doors closed), unlock your driver's door by manually lifting the lock, then press it back down after you are out - this will prevent the alarm from sounding when you use the key to unlock the door.
