Question about Frigidaire FGF355 Gas Kitchen Range

Gas isn't coming on for "Bake"

Hi. When I turn my oven on, the ignitor comes on but I don't hear the gas running and the pipe where the flames come out doesn't light. The broiler is working and I can hear the gas running just before it lights. The burners on the stove work as well. I've taken the plates off of the bottom but the final plate is giving me trouble. I can't get it off because the way it's placed in there makes it impossible to remove. I was hoping to clean away food by the gas valve and this would solve the problem. But I think the problem is greater than that even if I get the bottom plate off. Can you please help me? I have cussed way too much today and my husband and dogs are becoming scared of me!
Thank you, Tera

First the ignitor must glow very bright / compare the broiler ignitor to the bake on... the ignitor must pull 3.6 amps to open the gas valve... so even if it does glow it must glow bright and evenly to pull the 3.6 amp... you can test it if you have an AMP meter...

Gas valve do fail but it is rare... it is most likely a weak ignitor... hope it help please let me know...

so it pull 3.6 AMPS and the gas valve did not open... you do need to replace the gas valve in the back bottom... Sorry to hear that... the ignitor is cheaper and easier to replace... let me know how it works out...

Does it take much longer then the broil igniter to get bright ... that is a sign of a ingiter failure

When you turn the knob you dont smell gas, don't here the click of the igniter, but would like to light the oven manually. Can you help me please.

you can't manually light the oven with a match anymore, you have an electronic ignition in the oven or an ignitor part number 5303935066 and it's around 60 dollars.you have to remove the racks, remove the floor of the oven and then remove the cover and you'll see the ignitor in the back screwed to the tube usually with two 5/16 inch screws. set the oven to bake on 350,if the ignitor glows but doesn't light in 40 seconds it's bad,if it doesn't light at all you can unplug the ignitor and check it with a meter for continuity but most likely you have a bad ignitor.wet a paper towel and wet the two screws, they will come out easier, you can't use wd or anything like that because it will smell when you turn the oven on so use water, if you can see where the disconnect is to unplug the ignitor unplug it or when you get the screws out cut the two wires close to the ignitor, the new ignitor comes with ceramic wire nuts so you can connect the two wires you just cut to the new ignitor, the wires on the new ignitor will be long, you can screw the new ignitor on,leave around 6 inches of wire on the new ignitor so the wire connectors will be away from the tube and not up near the floor and if you have the ignitor screwed on you can see how long to make the wires, cut the wires and strip the ends on the old and new wires and wire nut them together.then turn it on to bake, when the ignitor starts to glow it sholud lite the flame in less than 40 seconds.hope this helps you out.one more thing don't touch the piece of the ignitor that's inside the metal bracket, they break very easy.good luck and have a great holiday.

Find the bake ignitor (you may need to remove bottom drawer or oven cavity floor to get to the ignitor). Turn on the bake. If the bake ignitor comes on (starts glowing after a few seconds) - check the amperage on the bake ignitor wires when it's on. Should be 3 - 3.6A. If less than 3A - replace ignitor. If the ignitor does not come on - check the voltage on the ignitor, should be the line voltage 110-120v AC. If there is a line voltage on the ignitor and it's not coming on - replace. Part number is 74008064.

Keep in mind, ignitors are fragile.

Good luck!

GE Gas Oven does not turn on for Bake but turns on Broil&Clean

Find the bake ignitor (you may need to remove bottom drawer or oven cavity floor to get to the ignitor). Turn on the bake. If the bake ignitor comes on (starts glowing after a few seconds) - check the amperage on the bake ignitor wires when it's on. If the ignitor is a round style - amperage should be 2.5-3A, if the ignitor is rectangular - 3 - 3.6A. If less than 2.5A or 3A respectively - replace ignitor. If the ignitor does not come on - check the voltage on the ignitor, should be the line voltage 110-120v AC. If there is a line voltage on the ignitor and it's not coming on - replace.
Ignitor part numbers for round style ones: 4342528, WB2X9154, SGR403, 5304401265;

Ignitors of the same shape (i.e. rectangular) are interchangeable, if you can splice the wires.

Good luck!

Oven's ignitor is bright, I smell gas, but it won't lite.

if ignitor is brt orange to white its hot enough to ignite gas, either the flame sensor is giving wrong signal to control board and not opening gas valve or signals the gas valve to shut off gas before ignition, also your flame sensor could be faulty or control board is bad

No Bake; everything else works

Hi, When you put the oven on bake, can you see the ignitor glowing but get no flame?
Sound like the ignitor might be getting weak and not opening the gas valve. Please let me know if this sounds like the problem.
It is common for the ignitor to go bad. Even if it glows, it can be bad.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Oven, Broiler inopperable

Sandwich, is it your bake or broil thats not working? You have two ignitors, one for bake and broil. One of them is your culprit. This is not a hard job. The post header says broil not working so the part number for that is WB13K0003. Bake ignitor is WB13K0004. To get at the bake ignitor you have to remove the oven bottom inside panel, remove the flame spreader (both easy). The click you are hearing is the board relay sending power to the ignitor. The ignitor has to draw so many amps to open the gas valve. The oven is pilotless. Catriver..post back.
