Depends on the noise , I know that sounds silly, but it works,, is the noise your hearing a clicking sound as you turn? if so, its the CV axles going out ,, From your info I don't know if you have the all wheel drive or just the front wheel drive, but if you hear clicking, its CV joints going bad, Now if what your hearing is a squealing noise, that would be the power steering pump, look at where your fan belt is and what all it drives,, one of those will be your power steering pump, some models have the fill tube for them right on the unit itself, and others have a off pump location for filling, however your year happens to be the a first generation and they used electronic power steering, and naturally you need to have it dealer checked

My 2005 chevy equinox makes a clunking noise when I turn the steering wheel I don't know what that means.

If it only clunks on a left or right turn. Then check the upper strut mount, these are known to make noise. Or it may need an upper strut plate. God-Bless!

There is a grinding noise from the front of the vehicle while driving. All new brakes. The wheel bearings have been checked and are fine.

Is it more like a vibration and humming, than grinding noise? If so it would be a bad engine or transmission mount. To check bearings while driving.. Find an empty parking lot, Make right and left turns/circles. Making a left, if the noise get loader, the right side bearing is bad. and vice versa. Do around 10 MPH while turning circles.

2006 Chevy equinox transmission. Making a dull whirring noise in 4th & 5th gear.automatic 5 speed transmission.On a 2006 Chevy Equinox.

It could a wheel bearing. See if the noise gets louder at higher speeds. If it does trying jiggling the steering wheel (in a safe manner) from left to right and see if the noise gets higher or lower. If it does then you have a front wheel bearing that is bad. If not then if could be a rear wheel bearing. If none of these apply to you then try checking your transmission fluid level and fluid condition. It is posible you could have an internal transmission issues. The fluid should be bright red. If brown or black I would consider taking it to a transmission shop to it further looked into.

2005 F-150 sounds like front wheel bearing is bad. turn to the left and sound is bad. turn to the right and no noise

Looks like it's time for a right wheel bearing, or however many there are in the hub. I'm assuming you do not have a 4 wheel drive. Remember, if it makes noise when turning left, you are "loading" the right wheel bearing. ( Shifting more weight to the side inside your turn). Think this way. When turning left at a higher speed, the left tire might even come up off the ground! That puts all the weight on the right. If you've 4 wheel drive, could also be c.v. joints, or universal joints.

Ignition key will not turn on my 2005 chevy equinox

Try turning your steering wheel hard to left or right while trying to turn the key and see if that resolves tour problem. Sometimes if you shut the engine off with the wheels turned the power steering will hold pressure against the steering lock mechanism.
